I think you're overlooking that the division winners we're playing arent really ahead of their division.
Out of GB, Pit, and Clev...at least one of those teams will finish above .500, and probably all three. That would be three more than we've faced on the road outside the division the past two years combined.

Unless we get extremely lucky, it's a tougher schedule.

The winning % of our home opponents is .492.

The winning % of our road opponents is .554.

I consider that quite significant.

There's no proof Cleveland is for real. They only played in 4 games against winning teams last year and lost 3 of em. They're not proven yet either.

The Browns fans could say the same thing about the Cowboys. There's no proof we are for real either.

But he wasn't saddled with a coach known for postseason futility. Romo is. That's the point. We're really counting on something to happen this year that's more or less unprecedented.

Saddled as in held down? Restrained? Romo set all kinds of records under that coach.

It's funny how all Coughlin's experience winning playoff games in Jacksonville a decade ago didn't help him win a single one in New York until last year.

And several unprecedented things happened last year, like Romo's records and T.O.'s great behavior.

We had a winning record against +.500 teams last year and there's a sizeable difference between going 13-3 and 10-6. Not to mention, our offense was more productive and we didnt have one of the worst defenses in the league.

By a mere 43 points.

I never said we weren't better. I said your argument swings the door both ways and it does.

53 points, which isn't insubstantial. It's the difference between being a top 10 offense and being in the bottom half of the league.

You are right, 53.

There is no difference in other steams fans thinking we haven't proven anything either though.

Two things....

1. If it wasnt for the December collapse, the gap would've been much bigger.

2. When you have a D as bad as theirs, you're forced to score late in games. How many times in the 4th quarter was our O on the bench or just running out the clock in the 4th quarter after blowouts? CHI, STL, PHI, NYJ? How many games did they spend most of the 4th quarter playing significantly ahead?

"I just think it's silly to think that a career "loser" like Wilson and his playoff-haunted QB are going to simultaneously put it all together."

There's no debating it, you are a drama queen:)

Did you mean Wade Phillips is a career loser?
He had a winning record as a head coach BEFORE he lead your team to 13 wins last year!

*** is a playoff-haunted QB?

The Cowboys are perceived by most qualified people to be one of the very best teams in the NFL.
Everyone ranks them in the top 4 and #1 in the NFC.
Winning the SB even as they drag Romo and Phillips along kicking and screaming for the ride wont be a miracle!

This is going to sound strange but I actually hope we don't get a first round bye. I still want us to go to the playoffs (of course) but I think the 3rd seed will seat us better. Right now, we are not mentally focused enough to have an off week and then return to play at a high level.

Its to early to say something like that.

Forget Cleveland then.

Two road games outside the division (GB, Pit) against teams that will almost certainly finish above .500 is two more than we've had the last two years combined.
