2008 Mock Draft Board
http://www.sportingnews.com

Round 1, Pick 16
Antoine Cason
CB, Arizona

Strengths: Is a good athlete with good size, speed and quickness. Is effective in man-to-man and zone. Changes directions nicely. Is a solid open-field tackler when forced to be. Shows soft hands to make interceptions, and shows good instincts.

Weaknesses: Shows inconsistent intensity and effort. Must play with more toughness. Tends to be too erect during backpedal, showing stiffness in hip turns. Lacks the speed to recover from a mistake.

=========
30 (30) Heath Benedict OT Newberry

The Dallas line is getting very old, and Benedict is a tremendous athlete who could become an elite NFL player if he can handle the mental side of the game.

I think that first pick will be higher. I know the Browns has won twice but I think we all know that won't last. It'll be a top 10 pick.

That said, I would be disappointed if we didn't come out of the first round with an elite WR.

I would not be worried about Cleveland until they win 5 games.

Agree re Cleveland winning 5 games before we become concerned. It really does seem though as if our chances of drafting McFadden are very slim and I don't want us to use both first rounders as part of effort move up and draft him. We've got some real needs which must be addressed if we are to continue improving this team.

Now I doubt we re-sign JJ unless he able to step it up. That means we nee another RB to go with Barber. Since McFadden not much of an option now, I'd like to see us use our 2 first rounders on a quality CB & WR. Yes our offense is playing well w/o Terry Glenn, but his presence (or another quality WR) sure would be a big help. Don't care which order so long as we get those 2 positions upgraded. Don't want to see us in same position re WR & CB injuries next year.

RB also a priority issue unless there's player in FA we like who complements Barber. We've also got other needs but don't see need for OT since Cowboys liked what they saw from Free in TC. Besides decision on whether to keep Flozel longer is still to be decided.

One thing that concerns me is all the talk about Michael Turner coming here. I am not sure if he would be a compliment to MB3 or not but I just don't feel confident that he is THAT guy.

Cleveland will concern me big time if the beat the Pats!
That's like saying Bills beating us, which either case, I don't see it happening.

Cleveland will be 2-3 and Dallas with be 5-0 after MNF. :D

I am on the Fitzy bandwagon now.

Or there is always Super Mario Manningham

I take Fitz over Mario any time and twice on Sundays. One is a sure thing and only cost Jerry's money. Other cost a 1st rounder/money and carries a 50% busts rate.

I like the WR from Oklahoma......Kelly......but then again, OU WRs don't do much in the NFL.

I also like Adarius Bowman from OSU.

yeah Larry Fitzgerald.

BTW-Antoine Cason won't go in the top 25 watch. Maybe not even first round. And no way we draft an OT unless it's Long or Baker, and even then I seriously doubt it if we have a shot. IMO it'll be a skill position. RB, WR, or CB.
