Dallas pick via Browns (1-3 overall) for

Atlanta's pick (5-12 overall), plus Jerious Norwood and another pick depending on how far down we drop down....

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

The first one that comes to mind is WHY?

Norwood hasn't proven he's anything more than a decent backup.

Trade for Vick and have him play a Reggie Bush type WR/RB role next season.

Petrino gets Broham (spelling) we get a good young rb some extra picks and save a bundle on the salary and SB a top pick will command.

Gives us more room to resign our own, Ware Newman ect.

We have the room to sign our own. That shouldn't become an issue.

I don't get the fascination with #2 RB's form other teams.

I don't have anything against trading down, but that's only if we can't get you know who.

We could probably sign Troy Hambrick, I'm pretty sure he is still available.

This kid is a stud, and to even mention Troy in the same sentence is blasphemous.

I am all in favor of waiting to see what our actual needs are going into the draft and then make a decision on the best way to address those. I am always in favor of trading down, if we can still get our guy at the spot we trade to.. if not, we stay where we are and get him there.

Norwood is not as good as the 2 RBs Dallas currently has in my opinion. With Adams contract up in the air and Ferguson getting up there in age a stud LT or DT might be the better option.

People need to get off this trade back junk.

Quality franchises rarely pick at the top of the draft so they rare get a shot at an elite player in the draft. If we have that shot there is no way in hell we should trade out of it.

Far more likely that if we are picking 6-10, we use our other first rounder to get up higher.

Also why would Atl trade him if he's such a stud? Dunn has already considered retiring. They won't make another boneheaded Shaub trade.

I can't think of one single solitary reason why we could need Jerius Norwood.

Therefore, I'm not at all interested in this trade. The only RB I really want is Darren McFadden and he can be had with the Browns pick if they stink, or via a trade if we have to.

I agree with T being a bigger need but I am not sure about Long yet and I am a huge UM fan. Same Baker from USC looks good but has had some problems with injuries. Also Free looked good before his setback.

I would not use a first round pick on a DT most any year.

We need youth and speed on Offense at the WR, and RB spots as well as the same at the CB position.

If we can trade down next year, get a good young prospect at any of those positions, still end up with two first rounders, AND save some cash, I am very much for it.

That was the whole idea behind my initial post. Just bouncing ideas around.

We've got a long season ahead of us and even though we think we might have a need area, that could change very quick. Norwood isn't some one I think highly nor do I think we need him so I say, no deal and wait until what happens after the season and free agency.

Agree, just passing the time before the season starts.

The board would melt down and I would pee my pants in glee.

It would probably give some on this board heart attacks.

Which, depending on the level of intoxication I had achieved at that point, I may or may not find it amusing.
