2009 DRAFT DALLAS COWBOYS GRADE: C+
http://www.pigskinpaul.com/Pigskin_Pauls_Place/NFL_Draft_files/COWBOYS GRADE 2010.xls.pdf
PICK NO. PLAYER COMMENTS POS HEIGHT WEIGHT SCHOOL
24 DEZ BRYANT
You could just feel the Karma on DRAFT Thursday that JERRY JONES was
indeed going to get this guy. And he should be well worth the trade-up and
hoopla that has surrounded him. When all the BS and smoke cleared, he was
surely the best WR prospect of the 2010 DRAFT. And I fully expect him to be a
star in the mold of Michael Irvin for them.
WR 6'2 225 OKLAHOMA STATE
55 SEAN LEE
A nice, safe Pick for them if he can stay healthy as a Pro. LEE has good
athleticism, and is a very smart player who can direct traffic out on the field.
He could be the heir apparent in 2011 for aging KEITH BROOKING on the
Inside. Solid, if unspectacular Pick.
ILB 6'2 235 PENN STATE
126 AKWASI OWUSU-ANSAH
I have little doubt that he is an NFL S, not a CB. He is very athletic and only
lacks experience against a high level of competition coming out of college. He
will probably shine on Special Teams, including potential Return duty as a
Rookie. But if injuries hit he could find the field due to lack of depth at S.
S 6'0 205 INDIANA/PA
179 SAM YOUNG
YOUNG showed more than most of us expected in Mobile. He is nothing more
than a RT candidate, but if COLOMBO can get by for another year they might
be able to groom him to take over there in 2011. I continue to be skeptical of his
starting pro potential, but not as negative as I was last December.
RT 6'8 320 NOTRE DAME
196 JAMAR WALL
I don't see WALL as more than a roster filler, if he is able to make some plays
on ST coverage units. But he was productive in college, and has a good solid
NFL type body. They could have done worse than him this late.
CB 5'10 205 TEXAS TECH
234 SEAN LISSEMORE
This is a project Pick, but a very talented one. And it is Round 7 after all. I have
him listed as a DE because I do not see his frame as stout enough to ever hold
up on the Nose. But then again I still don't know how RATLIFF gets the job
done. LISSEMORE impressed folks with his work in El Paso during TX vs..
Nation week. I like this Pick as high value in this slot.

NFL DRAFT TEAM EVALUATIONS
BRYANT is so good that I have to give them the "+" on their grade, but overall this is not an exceptional effort. In fact it would not be a shock if DEZ is the only player who sees
much time as a Rookie other than Special Teams. They'll have to ring the bell on a couple of Rookie Free Agents to upgrade their roster from last season. My highest praise
regarding this effort is that I never felt like the JONES BOYS got too cute and outsmarted themselves, which they have done at times over the years.
