NFC East:

Offense

QB: Tony Romo – NFC’s top improviser. Easily buys time. Consistently prolongs plays. Combined with dynamic supporting cast, over/under 4,000 yards, 30 touchdowns.

RB: Felix Jones – Most feared home run threat RB. Big-play ability=expendable Marion Barber. Electrifying open field runner. Just as dangerous as pass catcher. Starting to realize potential. Guaranteed 1,500+ total yards.

FB: Leonard Weaver – Picks up tough yards in third and short. Excellent hands. Plays key role. Hands full in Philly’s offense. Undervalued contributor.

WR: DeSean Jackson – NFC’s best receiver with YAC. Presence gives Jeremy Maclin 1,200+ yards. Explosiveness is unmatched. One play game-changer.

WR: Hakeem Nicks – Next Brandon Marshall, minus baggage. Nightmare to tackle. Red zone mismatch. Fell to late 1st?

TE: Fred Davis – Close call. Donovan will bring out best. Needed more than Celek and Witten. 8-9 touchdowns.

OT: Jamaal Brown, Trent Williams.

OG: Leonard Davis, Chris Snee.

C: Andre Gurode

Defense

DE: Trent Cole – About as productive as they come. Reliable as run stopper. Force to be reckoned with as pass rusher. Most irreplaceable DL.

DE: Justin Tuck – Solid as a rock. Knack for ball. Always making plays. Impact cannot be underestimated.

DT: Jay Ratliff – Really coming along. Attracts double teams. Size-strength combo draws attention. Lightning-quick for nose tackle in 3-4.

LB: DeMarcus Ware – Crowd pleaser. Tremendous skill set. Will not be silenced. Superior instincts. Will he impress us even more?

LB: Brian Orakpo – The next DeMarcus Ware? Only going to get better. Plays with chip on shoulder.

LB: Michael Boley – Flourishes to make up for loss of Antonio Pierce. Steps in to lead. Keep an eye on him.

LB: Stewart Bradley – Returns stronger than ever after missing ‘09. Performance will earn trip to Honolulu.

CB: Asante Samuel – Most daring ball hawk. Always around the ball. Incredible closing speed. Expect 2-3 defensive scores. Ability to win you a game.

CB: Terrell Thomas – Narrowly edges Big D’s 1-2 punch and teammate Corey Webster. Eclipses last year’s output. Aggressiveness lands him spot.

S: Kenny Phillips – Antrel Rolle gets the pub, he receives the nod. Former Hurricane will feed off Rolle. Outstanding talent waiting to shine.

S: Nate Allen – Another case where his teammate (Quintin Mikell) is more recognized. Rookie from USF makes impact right away unlike fellow rival LaRon Landry of Washington. I feel he’s going to make a lot of GM’s and QB’s upset.

Fred Davis over Witten, come one now. I would take Austin over DeSean any day. He gives me more as a receiver, factor in ST and it might change.

I like both of our corners better, Asante can win a game and he can also lose a game.

Hakeem Nicks over Austin ?

Terrell Thomas over Jenkins ?

After that, not bad.

Fred Davis? ROFL

And Nicks and D-Jax over Miles? Unpossible.

Jenkins is missing too.

How is Stewart Bradley in there over Spencer?

Fred Davis over Witten and Celek let alone Cooley who starts over him?

I also have no idea how Austin doesn't make it over Nicks....I like Nicks but Austin has done it...

WR: Hakeem Nicks – Next Brandon Marshall, minus baggage.
:lmao:

This guy must be a Skins fan with the Davis and OT picks. Both tackles from Washington, even though both have been there at most a couple months? Please.

And last I heard, Kenny Phillips' knee was shot.

Brian Orakpo - it was already a bad list before this, stopped reading right there.

I must be an uber-homer, because I definitely see where 3-4 more Cowboys should be.

Normally, when people say there should be more Cowboys on a list like this, I would agree that they are being homers. I mean, I take some pride in at least trying to be objective.

However, in this case, you don't need to be a homer to put Witten, Austin, and maybe even Jenkins on this list. You just have to have some vague remote idea of what you're talking about.

What this board needs is more people reposting the opinions of random amateur bloggers.

Wow. I like Nicks and I think he has the potential to be better than Jackson, but at this point, Austin is clearly the best in the NFCE at the WR position. No arguments. Jackson is explosive yes, but proper safety play holds him in check... Austin is more complete. Nicks is on the outside looking in, right now, but lack of experience and PT is a big part of that-- but no lie, the kid is GOOD.

Asante Samuel is a big name and creates turnovers. It's subjective but I won't argue that. Terrell Thomas was very good last year, so I can understand him being higher than Jenkins (it's a close one).

Fred Davis takes the cake as the stupidest selection on here. I'm not a homer but there are two players on the team that I will vehemently argue as being the best in the league that their position. Ware and Witten.

And rookie Nate Allen is on the list without playing a down in the NFL. The east must be really weak at the S position.

Don't know if I would have Gurode on the list... and maybe Kosier over Davis? Really subjective, so I don't mind his pick.

In all fairness, it seems like the guy was trying to be objective about his selections and not choose too many players from one team. Sadly, honesty will sometimes appear to be biased, and 'seemingly unbiased' is dishonest.

Davis isn't even the best tight end on his own team.

Exactly. It's getting painful, but I guess that's what's out there during this dead time of year. A large majority of these threads are absolute crap, but we still read them because we're addicts. Gotta get our Cowboys fix.

Great List.

FOR ME TO POOP ON!

It still pains me that Orakpo is a Commander.

Not saying his list was great, but Orakpo is an extremely talented player.

Agreed. He was really the only bright spot on an under-achieving defense in Washington. He finished the year with 11 sacks after switching from DE to OLB.

Orakpo had an outstanding rookie season. I have no problems with him in over spencer. as mentioned, davis is absurd really. he MIGHT be the 4th or 5th best TE in the conf and even that is debatable. i think jenkins and miles would have very strong cases to make the list and i'm not sure about putting rookies on the list just yet...
