2010 Draft Flash back: Cowboys pick Dez

Love the Cowboys picked Dez and that the Eagles were partially responsible it happened. If they did not trade the 24th pick to Denver then they (Broncos) would have never traded it to New England.

Philadelphia Eagles: Acquire pick No. 13 in 2010
Denver Broncos: Acquire picks No. 24, 70 and 87 in 2010

Analysis: The Eagles moved up from 24 to get Brandon Graham, who will help bolster their pass rush. He's also a tough defender against the run.


Denver Broncos: Acquire pick No. 22 in 2010
New England Patriots: Acquire picks No. 24 and 113 in 2010

Analysis: After moving back twice, the Broncos jumped up two spots to get WR Demaryius Thomas, a downfield threat to replace recently traded Brandon Marshall.


Dallas Cowboys: Acquire picks No. 24 and 119 in 2010
New England Patriots: Acquire picks No. 27 and 90 in 2010

Analysis: With Dez Bryant still on the board at No. 24, Jerry Jones moved up three spots to grab the wide receiver, who will give the Cowboys another playmaker to pair with Miles Austin. With the No. 27 pick, the Patriots took CB Devin McCourty, a tough and versatile player who also will help on special teams.

if not for the chronic hamstring issues that plagued Austin after that year it really could have been. seemed like no matter what he tried to do after that he was cursed by those hamstrings.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe the Patriots traded us to keep Bryant from going to the Ravens as well.

I used to think this pic was just awesome. It's got a different feeling for me now that we know how some of Dez' family reacted to his NFL success. Assuming, of course, that that's his family in the background.

I wasn't on CZ in 2010...how was the overall reaction to picking Dez? I'm assuming most people were happy with the selection (other than the occasional contrarian). I know I was happy.

Had to look up the video on YouTube this morning and play it for BDC Jr.

Hidden lesson I tried to convey - Passion can't be taught. You either have it or you don't. Dez has it in spades. Just like The Playmaker did.
