So we all agree that the OL needs depth, future starters, get smarter and cut down on penalties and bonehead plays.

It starts up front.

I'm not much of a Gurode fan.

Too many mental errors.

We heard the chatter last year or two how Kosier helps him with the line calls.

VS GB the ILB's Hawk and whathisface had a free path to the QB.

Unger would have been a huge upgrade vs Gurode IMO.

Imrove the Center and the whole OL improves immensely.

And the answer Unger was the BPA doesn't jive cuz he was never availabe at 51.

I really liked Unger too, but most consider Gurode to be one of the 4-5 best centers in the league.

really I wanted Nic Mangold - in 06 then we would not be talking about Gurode

but Parcells wanted B Carp - nice move Bill

in last years draft I was wanting Ron Brace or Sean Smith

Smith I had at the top of my board way early

I hate Gurode but I don't think he going anywhere -
2/20/2007: Signed a six-year, $30 million contract. The deal included a $10 million signing bonus. 2009: $2.4 million, 2010: $3 million, 2011: $5.5 million, 2012: $6.5 million, 2013

all we can hope for is somebody better at a backup Center

If I take a center in 2 that doesn't mean he has to start year 1.

Groom him for a year and then roll him out there.

Capologists what does it cost to cut/trade Gurode in 2010 or 2011?

Wont happen. This is shaping up to be a great draft because of CBA forcing juniors in. This is the year you keep your one and try to add a two.

honestly, with all the picks we had last season, there was no reason why we couldnt have made it so we have:

1 - 1 or 2
2 - 2
3 - 2
4 - 2
5 - 1
6 - 1
7 - 1

and with the depth of this draft.....if we had these picks, we could do some good things in the 2010 draft........unfortunately we took the dirty dozen last year.....and about half of those eggs were rotten.

I like Tennant but he's just too thin. Very good athlete for the center position

Tennant goes 6-4/290

lets see how big was Step 6-2 #270

or we had taken Nick Mangold 6-4 #305

your to hung up on size of a player where its technique that counts

if you really want a center in round one go after

Kristofer O'Dowd*, USC
Height: 6-5. Weight: 298

oh but what his to light also

or go

G/C

Jeff Byers, USC
Height: 6-3. Weight: 288 in 5-6.

One of the more versatile linemen in this class, Chris Hall started at every position as a sophomore.

an yet he playing the toughest position on the line ?

I am done - Really

O'Dowd got benched for poor play by SC. He has a year left in school if he wants.

Chris Hall is awful. I'm a Texas fan through and through, and there's nobody on that Texas line who can play in the NFL. Texas has some nice prospects, but not at positions I think we're likely to look at. McCoy could be a nice quarterback in the NFL some day, but we're set there. Shipley is a poor man's Marvin Harrison who will be an outstanding slot receiver in the NFL, but we aren't going WR that early. Roddrick Muckelroy is a good ILB prospect, but that doesn't figure to get an early look from us. Lamarr Houston could be an outstanding one-gap DT in a 4-3, but we don't run that defense. The only guy we might look at early is Sergio Kindle, who has DeMarcus Ware-type athleticism as a 3-4 OLB. You can never have enough of those, and we simply aren't getting enough out of Spencer at that spot.

I just want to make sure I have this correct.....

You pull the "have you ever seen him play card" on me via Chris Hall.

Then you suggest we use a 1st rounder on someone who has been benched and most likely isn't even in this year's draft.

Clearly you've been watching a lot of USC football and are dialed in on O'Dowd.

I'm embarrassed for you.

You're on the record suggesting we should use a first rounder on a guy who doesn't even start.
