One player I know to keep an eye on is Nebraska safety Larry Asante. He should test VERY well and I know the Cowboys are also interested.

Asante looks the part as a Strong Safety. I'd have no problems drafting him anywhere between the 4th and 5th rounds.

Out of the Huskers players coming out this year, I'd pay attention to Dillard as well. He's better suited as a MLB on a 4-3 defense because of his instints and speed, but I think he'd do very well as ILB on a 3-4.

Another name to think about as a UDFA or 6th or 7th round draft pick, and who wasn't invited to the combines, is Barry Turner. I'd pay close attention to him during the workouts. He could be a very useful player as an OLB pass rushing specialist/special team player.

Actually, Dillard would make a very good 3-4 ILB, if some team wanted him to play there.

Dillard trimmed down to 230-235 this season after playing 250+ all of his college career. Even at the weight the guy is still a bull and great at taking on blocks. His ability to stop the run is actually what got him back in our lineup once Will Compton and Sean Fisher showed they were as soft as tissue paper.

Once Dillard got on the field, he never looked back. He went on to have an outstanding season.

The other bright spot about Dillard is that he is a very good coverage LB as well. Once Nebraska went into a primary nickel/dime defense for the B12 season to combat all the spread offenses in this conference, Dillard never came off the field. He was the LB in the middle of the defense still playing and never showed to be a liability.

Just gotta keep the fire under that kid. He's known to get lazy and that, along with being a one year wonder, will make him fall.

Matt O'Hanlon is another kid off that defense that may surprise some folks. Mentally tough as nails and a GREAT open field tackler. Will at the very least make a good ST demon for someone and possibly a decent safety.

Ha, Kyle Bosworth from UCLA is the nephew of Brian. I would bet Kyle has a better NFL career than "The Boz". :lmao2:
