I did this a few weeks ago and never got around to posting it, so I'm just going to throw it out now, before this season gets started. Basically, I watched every sack last season by DeMarcus Ware, Clay Matthews, James Harrison and Julius Peppers (the top four pass-rushers on NFL Network's top 100 list). I noted when and where the sack occurred, who was blocking on each play and how long it took from the snap of the ball until the quarterback was under wraps (even if he didn't go down right away).

Here's the breakdown. Feel free to draw your own conclusions --

Really interesting. Glad we have a guy like Ware who can just eat apart any LT. That's very impressive.

So what you're saying is Ware does too much work and needs to hold back for the other guys on the team to get more sacks. Absolutely Right!

Hahahahaha, I do remember saying a few weeks ago "If you think Ware is bad, average, overrated, doesn't do it when it matter, etc. Then you have no idea what you're talking about in terms of football"

Thanks for proving me right Adam, any of you anti-Ware morons wanna try to pick this evidence apart?

Adam, I cannot thank you enough for the data you provide. This really does go to show how Ware is the very best at getting to the QB. To get the sacks the fastest, and while blocked EVERY time is just amazing.

Wow. No one touches Ware. The only other thing I'd want to see is strip sacks and other forced turnovers.

Matthews is looking dominant too, but Harrison and Peppers are looking overrated.

This is impressive analysis, and DeMarcus Ware is a flat out stud. Ware is the best and most valuable defensive player in the NFL, and that includes Revis, imo. They will be on the same field soon. Oh, the fun...

Ferguson VS Ware

Revis VS Austin or Bryant

Hopefully, Ryan's defense will give Ware the opportunity to get a few of those unblocked sacks this year.

Now, imagine how much more dominant Ware would be if he had long, flowing locks.

Yeah but all of Ware's sacks come in garbage time.....oh wait

**EDIT** Great work Adam. That is a fantastic analysis. You a credit to CZ.

I noticed HALF of Matthew's sacks were because he was unblocked or against centers & guards....

That's not a slam on him -- it's a testament to Dom Caper's defense and the fact that they are willing to line Matthews up anywhere along the line.

I'm hoping we get a bit more of that with D. Ware this year -- I think he could be even MORE productive if they moved him around like Clay Matthews.
