These are the only prospects on this list that really intrigue me... the ones in bold font are particular favorites of mine...

Carter has fallen I would not be surprised if he does not get drafted
his weight has gotten up to 360

10/13/09 NFL DRAFT SCOUT FALLER: Brandon Carter, OG, Texas Tech: Despite Tech's 66-28 blowout win over Kansas State and the team's continued offensive success this season, Carter's stock is still not on the rise. The All-American was already considered overrated by most scouts coming into the season, with the Red Raiders' wide splits and quick throws being a bigger factor in pass protection than Carter's play. His "war paint" and huge frame make Carter a media darling and his nasty on-field attitude is a plus. But his heavy feet do not endear him to NFL teams because they can see how the quickness of pro defensive tackles will give him fits. Being suspended and stripped of his team captaincy for a week by head coach Mike Leach, as well as the team's success with Carter on the sidelines, will not help his cause. - Chad Reuter, The SportsXchange, NFLDraftScout.com

I'm interested in Batten and Cromartie.

Hey, I went to UTEP, so I'm generally in the tank for any of their players, but you don't want any part of ANY player from that defense...

They were 111th (out of 120 teams) in total defense, 106th in scoring defense, 107th in rush defense, 98th in pass defense (and only ranked that high because opponents could run on them so easily, so they didn't throw as often as they otherwise might), and 94th in pass efficiency defense, giving up an opposing quarterback rating of 138.55...

Any Miners fan would tell you they didn't have ANY pass defense last season... so even though I love my Miners, I want no part of Cromartie-Smith... oh, he makes his fair share of tackles, which is good for a safety, but part of this is because the Miners let lots of running backs get into the secondary, and part of it is because he gives up lots of completions... in 48 games played, he has all of 4 interceptions, none this year... in the last 2 years, he's had just 4 passes broken up...

He has decent size for the position, but mediocre at best speed... he's 6-2, 210, and NFLDS credits him with a 4.58 40 times (which, from watching him play, sounds about right)... he's also had some off-field problems, in the form of a bar brawl back in July 2007...

NFLDS rates him their 627th best senior prospect, which means if you really do like him, you can probably sign him after the draft, without wasting a pick...

I think you just fell in love with the name, LOL...

I'm very intrigued by this Veldheer kid.

6-8/320 and runs in the 4.8's.

I wonder if Houck could coach that kid up?

On paper he reminds me of Sebastian Vollmer/Michael Roos/Todd Herramans.
