2011 Best Cities for Families

Newark NJ should be on the list.

Extreme Crime rate, pollution, terrible schools. It should be #1 on that list!

Corruption, pollution, and terrible schools sure... but Newark is now only the 20th most dangerous city in America. Improvement!

St. Louis? Isn't that nearly the murder capital of the US?

I had never seen so many homeless people till i visited DC. Austin is known as a very expensive place to live. Not sure about that list.

It depends on where you live in Austin, really. I live right by campus and it doesn't cost me much. But the people around me pay a lot. And personally, I look forward to getting out of Austin, Tx., where the "family" county officials here killed my daughter.

So in my view, the list is complete garbage.

DC is a joke. Only if you have money and can live in one of the expensive suburbs is it in any way really good. This list is BS - totally.

I think that is a fallacy. It is not that expensive to live in Austin. Now the heat will kill you.

I am surprised Austin is that high on the list, but not surprised it is on the list.

Where's Gary, Indiana.

I lived ini the Springs. Shouldn't even be on the list.

No way in heck can you convince me there are 26 cities better to raise a family then Denver.

I am only going by what i have been told by others who have lived there. Many live outside of Austin and take a commute back into town to make living affordable. Also seems like a party town, not a family town?

I believe Camden New Jersey is.

Camden might be the worst city I've ever been to, and I've been to a ton of cities.
