2011 Cowboys Grades... Abram Elam, Final Grade: D+ (1.63)

I gave him a C- based on the fact that I really didn't expect much from him. Otherwise it probably could've been a D.

I gave him a D. Had some really good showings early in the year but tapered off in the middle and never seemed to recover

I looked for J, for JAG. Wasn't an option, so I graded him a C. Better than what we had before signing him, but nothing to write home about.

C because I could barely C him do anything but that's probably a good thing.

I sat and thought not-so-long and not-so-hard about this grade for this "Elam" guy and my only thought was "MEH"...so good, solid average C from me!

I think both of our safeties played around the B level. Sensabaugh more of a B+, and Elam more of a very, very regular B.

Still kind of makes me miss Ken Hamlin, to be honest. There were no deep balls when Hamlin was here.

Grade Abe Elam.

Elam was one of the most overrated arrivals in a big while.

'Spain your logo. It looks like a tumor on an arm.

How could he possibly be overrated?! He's Abe Elam! :laugh2:

It's like Pool this year, some people are talking about the dude like he's anything more than yet another stop-gap safety. If Pool is one and done here, I won't be surprised in the least.

C -- I thought he was good against the run, not so good in pass coverage.

He had his moments but also was responsible for some of our biggest defensive lapses. Overall he was just too much of a liability to bring back, but he wasnt "awful" like Alan Ball was the year before.

Athena's helmet with a sword in gold, against a black and gray background.

Part of the crest of the US Military Academy. Black, gray, and gold represent the ingredients of gunpowder - charcoal, saltpeter, and sulfur.
