2011 Cowboys Grades... DeMarco Murray, Final Grade: A-/B+ (3.64)

B

Now, when he was on the field he was great. He brought life to our running game and was an A level performer all the way. Heck, make it an A+

Then he broke his leg.

Yea, I downgraded him for that. I know it wasn't his fault. The analogy that I use is a student in a college course who is acing the first two-thirds of the semester and then gets really ill, has a death in the family, or some other calamity befalls him that brings down the quality of his work and he gets a B for the semester. It's not fair, but stuff happens.

I expect him to make the Dean's List his sophomore year.

I gave him a "B". I was happy with the pick on draft day and he was everything that I thought he would be, but I was then and still am a little concerned about durability. Hope he can stay healthy for a full season next year.

I give him a B. The broken leg may have been a fluke, but that wasn't the only injury he had to contend with this year. He started off slow because of minor ailments that limited him in training camp and preseason games. He may have earned the coaches trust earlier and made a bigger impact early in the season had he not had to deal with those minor injuries.

I went with a B only because of how it ended. Probably should be an A but I think a B is more than fair enough.

Easily the biggest surprise of the season for me and I'm sure many others.

He may be hurt often but give him a solid wall and he will be special.

I can't help but laugh at those who railed this pick last April. I tried defending that pick and got hammered because RB wasn't a need and we drafted him too high.

Gotta go with A.

Saved our season from disaster, IMO...His play kept a bad team from being worse.

B. Can't give an A for a partial season.

A
I gave him an A just because of what he accomplished in a partial season.

Probably the best back we've had in quite some time.

If by "in quite some time" you mean "since Marion Barber, 2007 Edition" - which isn't actually that long. Running backs come, and running backs go.
