Sounds pretty close to dead on to me. I would have graded them a C for the year overall so to see a C+ isn't much of a shocker. Though special teams seems a bit too high of a grade. Aside from finding out Bailey was a solid kicker we didn't do much with ST's.

Discuss!

I don't think giving special teams equal weight with the O and D in the team average makes a lot of sense. I'd average the ratings of all the players individually for the team total.

Speaking of ratings for the individual players, could you list them all in one convenient place?

I just want to say great job. Lots of effort on your part and the end result looks to be pretty accurate. Thanks man. I appreciate it.

Pretty reasonable, I probably would have given the offense a C+ or B- (they were pretty good with Murray) and a C or C- for the defense (couldn't stop anybody by the end of the season).

Thanks for doing all the work on this.

I would certainly say the spread between the offense and defense should be greater. And I agree that the ST is over rated; yes we had a great FG kicker this year but due to injuries to McBriar our punting was down; and our coverage and return units were not all that.

Yes. I have an obligation this morning but I will add that information to the OP.

Check, roger, hooooah.

Nice job, Sir...

Although unsuccessful last season, the team was in the hunt until the very last game played. That is a C+...and validation.

I'd like to give a kudo to the effort on the team's special teams. They came from a point of close to complete disrepair...to a credable collection of units. Must be good coaching and adding realistic players in the mix. Now, if the kick off can get to the end zone more regularly, and Harris or someone keep coming on strong in returns, this could be a jewel in the cap for our Cowboys this next season. Can we still say field position?

The defense getting rated as high as the offense here makes the whole thing moot.

Really? Which really is worse: allowing another team's offense to move down the field evey 4th quarter? Or allowing opponents to crucify your quarterback, while not running the ball?

Or you should have just stuffed the ballot box...

The offensive line being horrible doesn't mean the offense was as bad as the defense...the D shouldn't be ranked that high period.

Call it what you want, but the bottom line is the defense was responsible for us not making the playoffs.

That is ground breaking discovery there alright....and a C+ pretty well describes it. The team was into the final game, for NFC East top dog. But lost it. The churn has been stronger on the offensive side of the ball, over the past three seasons.

Now, it's the defensive side's turn...but rocket science again?

The defense still has Sean Lee, DeMarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff, Mike Jenkins, and Orlando Scandrick back. And that merits discovery appreciation.

But now, the team has added Dan Connor, Brandon Carr, and Brodney Pool to the defense...but lo and behold, it also added: Mackenzie Bernadeau, Nate Livings, and Lawrence Vickers on the offensive side. I won't throw in the addition of Kyle Orton, as a retirement was involved.

But change involved? The complete offensive line interior looks to change, and both tackles are being swapped from last season. Also, the biggest receiving producer is now gone...but, who's counting score on that side through change now as well?

If there is a problem confronting a realisticly, and already voted upon view, then that spells disappointment in ultimate failure last season, as well as a bias carried into a view of change now.

I think, from last season's defensive squad, there will be an intrigueing increase in role for such players as Sean Lissimore, and Bruce Carter.

I was a tanker. I come with a mind set that you go from potential of firepower, and don't worry about having to get a tank with frozen track and unable to even move, back in production.

But, unless one is tooting the departure of this year's cuts on defense, as the evaluation of play....then with those players gone, the core and quality left behind is strong still. And that reflects in scores of roster players. After all, this posting was on average...and even a skeptic can do the math to see there was still left behind, quite a bit of talent.

That is reflected here...sorry, I'll back up another M-1 Tank, with an exhaust temperature of twenty-eight hundred degrees at rear fins, and unthaw my track, with a lot of pick and sledge action to assist. But that goes on both sides of the ball, even this season.

I completely agree with that man. Despite some obvious areas of deficit, we still managed to put together a "decent" season. I see that C+ becoming a solid B this year. We're making some solid moves in FA and when the draft hits, I really think the Boys are going to go Safety or DE in the 1st round. DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE!!! :lasso: I simply cannot wait until that splash is made. Thanks for putting together the averages. Good stuff.

The grades are averaged from the grades users gave.

Why was Spears graded instead of Hatcher? Hatcher is the starter.
