Tyron might be the only one from Jason Garrett's first class to receive a 2nd contract. What was once viewed as a great building block class for the future may now be walking out the door.

All turned into great-at least good players and will return comp picks baring a FA splurge. 2nd contracts mean little. Did they perform at/or close to expected production for where they were picked is what matters

In a salary cap era, maintaining a top QB and a stellar line to protect him is the right direction in my opinion. Build along the defensive line, and churn the "skilled" positions every four years through the draft to stay young.

That's what good drafting will get you...

Good players who you have the option to pay or not. Each one of them would have stayed in Dallas had the Cowboys been willing to pay them.

Not to stray too far off topic; but this also explains why Dallas hasn't drafted a QB behind Romo. Teams basically operate on four year cycles. Even this year; they'd be grooming a QB for somebody else.

The value of draft picks is their production on their rookie contract. After that they're just like any free agent. The exception is QBs because they don't become available in FA.

good teams keep having drafts like these and keep replacing said players who command more money than they mean to this current team

What a deep draft. Nearly all of those picks are starters, several of them being pro bowl players and huge impact guys.

That was a great draft at the top. I don't remember how it was being talked about at the time, but its very deep in hindsight.
