Both those guys are gonna get huge contracts, I doubt we'd sign both.
Ultimately I think we'll be pretty active when/if free agency does start, but I think all of you wanting only the best player at each position signed are gonna be disappointed. I think they'll look for more middle of the road guys, people like Kyle Kosier when we signed him. Quality, dependable players that represent good value.
I agree with you. Football's Future has a good list of the free agents if anyone wants to check. I'm not backing off guys like Leroy Harris. It was his first year starting, and he was a fourth round pick in 2007. The Titans offensive line coach really likes him, and the organization thinks he can be a Pro Bowl player. He is a young guy with upside, and his price should be about right. It's guys like this who you should watch. I agree with you. Kosier was a cheap bargain and unknown.
The interior of the Titans offensive line is taking heat for their run blocking, but it's tough when there are 8 or 9 guys in the box
constantly due to no quarterback. Harris has started and played well (in a playoff game) against the Ravens at center. Plus, he has started a game at RT and played well. He's big and strong and athletic. I don't know of any other guys like this, but I do wonder who the other ones are.
Again, this guy can play all three interior line positions and will play at 27. Young linemen, who are ready to plug in, are tough to find, and I expect guys like Harris will draw significant interest. I wonder what the Titans will over him, and I wonder if Harris wants to play for a lame duck coach, knowing that Fisher and his offensive line coach could be gone in a year.
If anyone else know about guys like Harris, tell us. I don't see Dallas paying Leonard Davis money when a guy like Davis has given the Cowboys diminishing returns.
Carl Nicks would be a nice addition, but he is going to cost $ 50 million or more. That is the problem.
