How many impact starting Players do you feel the Boyz need from the 2011 NFL Draft ? My thoughts are:

2 - OL
2 - Safety
1 - CB
1 - DL/OLB

I'm seeing the need for six new Players and my thinking is 4 from the Draft and 2 in Free Agency. Tell me your thoughts?

I think that DL is a bigger need than CB, but you nailed it.

I just think that with better coaching, Jenkins rebounds and Newman plays solid. I don;t see CB as our secondary problems as much as safety, scheme and attitude.

I think you're going to be incredibly disappointed if you think we're going to get 4 new immediate starters in this draft.

Getting four starters would make this draft one of the better ones in recent history. I think it`s going to take at least a couple of years with solid drafts and FA signing to fill the holes .

I don't think there's a starting S in this draft, necessarily.

We need a starting-quality Tackle and a Safety (assuming Sensabaugh doesn't bolt). It would be nice to add an impact player to the DL. We'll have to get at least the Safety in FA. We could use a developmental CB, too, though we can get that in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I think Rahim Moore or Deunta Williams could both start for us. I think Moore compares favorably to Nate Allen. He had a good rookie year for the eaglets.

We will get one Safety in FA.

We will have to likely get another one in the Draft.

The two needs I see for this team is one Safety (assuming we do get 1 in FA) and an OT. We will hopefully be able to land quality players for these two positions in April.

My list of wants are more comprehensive, including an OG, another CB, DL, and ILB.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind another WR in the later rounds to develop (maybe a 6th or 7th rounder).

I liked Nate Allen. I liked Burnett last year, too. I don't think this year's crop is nearly as good. There are players who can develop, but I'm not sure any of the top guys can come in and start for Dallas. It's not like we're putting a rookie into a support role with an otherwise solid secondary. Right now we've got no capable veteran at that position, and we've got a shaky CB starting next to Newman. We've messed around not really addressing the safety position for years. It's time to get a decent FA in at least one of those slots. Personally, I'd like to see us pick up two and use the draft for a developmental CB to replace Newman in the next two seasons.

Honestly I could see 2 New Safeties and 1 New CB Starting in the Secondary. I also see at least 1 or possibly 2 New Offensive Lineman Starting. I also know there will be 1 New DL Starting next season so when adding this up I could very well see 5 or 6 New Players Starting for the Cowboys next season.

Moore and Williams (if healthy) would both start over Ball. Unless we get a FA saftey, those two would start for us. Ryan started a rookie FS TJ Ward last year. Moore and Williams both rate higher than Ward. I don't think Ryan is scared to start a rookie as Wade was.

Then why draft one? We have 3 young safeties who all can do certain things well. Put in certain positions, they all have a chance to succeed.

I honestly don't want us to draft a safety high and would rather us spend it on the O-line or get the BPA (hopefully Quinn, Miller, or even Fairley if he falls that far)

Not only should they be better than Alan Ball. They should also be better than current FA options. I don't think either of them would be. This is a weak class for S, but a fairly strong one for CB. We should be focussing on getting the best players and not reaching for starters at thin positions.

How many trades does JJ have to make to get 4 starters from this draft?

Deunta Williams.

It doesn't matter how many Trades he has to make the bottom line they need Starters out of this Draft. If they are on the Clock and someone is there or within trading range to a spot that needs a New Starter make the move.

We won't get 4 immediate starters in this draft, its as simple as that. I would be happy with 2. We will have to play with what we got and hope that some of them improve. I would look to keep Gerald, pick up one FA safety, draft a second round RT, and BPA at #9 (probably a CB, OLB, or DL).

What is wanted, and what we can actually get are two different things.

I think the first three picks has to Start or they failed in their evaluations. These first 3 picks are in the top 75 in an overall deep class with all the top Juniors added. There is simply no excuse that at least the first 3 shouldn't walk-in and beat out what's on this Cowboys Roster in several positions. I feel very strongly that 1 New DL will start and at least 2 in the Secondary, so I don't know how you think only 2 will start because in my opinion that would be a flop.

1-OL, 1-DL/OLB and 2-Secondary, There's your 4 spots !!!
