2012 Free Agents - Offense

OG's Nicks and Grubbs are interesting because the Saints and Ravens both have other essential players to re-sign (Brees, Ray Rice, Suggs). I doubt they'll be able to sign everybody. We're going to need interior help next year, and either one of these guys would make for a HUGE upgrade on the OL. That allows us to draft a center and hope Arkin and/or Nagy show improvement next year.

Any of those guards would be nice. Williams injured his foot this past Sunday.

Definately would love to get Carl Nicks.

There are some really good players on that list but the stand out ones to me, if you're a flash guy, are Rice, Foster, and Forte and there is litterally zero shot of those guys being allowed to leave their teams.

If I were Jerry I'd do what it took to get Nicks though.

And this early it is possible that none, or all will be available.

Way too early to get very involved in the hypothetical. About as much good as speculating on how things look if we beat the gnats last week. :)

Offseason priority #1 for the offense is nicks, if you can't get Nicks then go after Grubbs.

You said it Fellas. I wanted to draft Nicks in the 4th or 5th round of the 08 draft but we didn't do it. This is pretty unusual for me because I generally don't like players with legal issues but he is a guy I really wanted. He was suspended from the Nebraska team just before the draft and kinda fell because of it. He has a mean streak in him that I think we really need on our OL. I would love him to replace Kosier at RG. Grubbs would obviously be plan B but Nicks is the guy I would love to get as an FA. What's more, the Saints just spent big money on Evans so I think that it's possible they may not do it for Nicks. He would be a great pickup.

Of course, I would love to have Forte but I don't see it. However, if we could work out a deal that maybe sent Jones to Chicago for Forte and Cap relief, that would be a great deal IMO. Won't happen thou.

If we want attitude and swagger let's trade Felix for a draft pick and roll with murray and lynch at rb!! I can dream at least

Lynch is like what Barber was supposed to be. Lynch is a BEAST and fast and slick.

I'm not as convinced that we need to invest heavily at interior OL so long as we can settle the Center position. In an ideal world, Costa or Kowalski is the answer at Center. So long as we have that I think we can spend one pick at OL in the draft and one of the other young guys on the roster will be the answer at the other OG slot soon. Until then just bring back Holland for another year as a backup.

I think we need to save money in FA for a pass rusher - those guys tend to go at a premium so we'll need to pay up. I wish we could settle the issue in the draft but my understanding is it may be a weak draft.

We will need to dedicate at least two picks to the secondary in the next draft due to TNew's age and Jenkins' health issues. Fortunately, CBs can usually play right out of the gate.

Lynch is a ticking time bomb. No thanks!

Carl Nicks is who we should go all in for.

We're good for RB and nobody would give us a 1st rounder for Felix, especially with a stable of RB's like that who may become available. Not to mention guys drafted after the 2nd round have been very productive anyways. We found a gem in the 3rd round ourselves.

Nagy has to get bigger and stronger; and for those of you who still smoke the pipe that Woicik can wave a magic wand remember that Nagy was a 5th year senior with Wisconsin, which might have the best weight training program in college football. It is not very likely that he can gain the necessary 15 lbs and strength he needs. If he does it will take a couple of years. Arkin is more of a possibility since he came from a school who might as well have had no weight training program.

Myself, I would be more than happy throwing all eggs for offensive line improvements at Nicks. Then going defensive line, linebacker, and secondary in the next draft.
