5 games in 2011 = 5 blown leads in 2011
Folks, we're between 5-10 plays from being 13-3. We needed to bolster the pass rush and secondary, especially in late game situations when the defense is in nickel.
Morris Claiborne: allows Rob Ryan to dial up the blitz and leave his DB's on islands, something he couldn't do with Newman and players like Frank Walker and Alan Ball getting significant playing time
Tyrone Crawford: helps the pass rush in big game situations; will hopefully develop into a starter in the base 3-4 at the 5 tech
Kyle Wilbur: you can never have enough pass rushers, and he will give Spencer and Ware a rest every now and then
Matt Johnson: small school, developmental guy who hopefully pans out; seems like we're looking for DB's who get a bunch of INT's; let's see him compete and he'll make an impact on special teams immediately
Danny Coale: I absolutely love this pick. Hopefully he develops a rapport with Romo early and often; wouldn't mind adding a veteran WR after week 1 like we did with Robinson though
James Hanna: not sure where he fits into our offense honestly; but if he develops with his blocking, he could be a player...special teams player right now
Caleb McSurdy: don't know much about the player, probably just a training camp body
Love some of our UDFA as well, but if these defensive guys help early on, this team will FINISH in the 4th quarter and we'll win more ball games. I have to be honest, I'm still worried about the center and safety position, but I guess you can't fill all your needs in one offseason. Go Boys. :starspin
