2012 Predictions?

10-6 give or take a game or two either way. I'd be more surprised to do worse then 8-8 than I would better than 10-6. I'll be very disappointed if we don't compete. The division is the key.

I agree.. we have the talent. It's the same thing every year though. We always have the talent. It just seems like we lack the mental toughness to play 4 quarters. Although we did have some good coaching changes this year, so perhaps that can make a good difference. Also having Demarco and Carr to start the the beginning of the season will make a big difference imo. We badly need a pass rusher or 2 now. I was just taking a look at the schedule and guessing really.... I hope I'm wrong and we are a MUCH improved team this year. Last year I guessed a 11-5 record. I was way off.

I don't dwell on last year and hopefully this team does not. I expect them to get out and work I expect Garrett to be more seasoned and have this team more focused. I expect defense to have a much better grasp of what Ryan wants from them and of course up grades some that have taken place and others yet to come.

I don't ever expect an easy season and you will never see me predict these blow out game that so many here do leading up to a game. I expect every game to be a battle and it is up to the players and coaches to find a way to win.

Last season was disappointing I expected better than 8-8 and I expect better than 8-8 this season. I'm not lowering my expectation for this team and if that mean I get disappointed so be it but I honestly think they are capable of more

Impossible to know before the draft and TC. I usually hold off on these things until I see who makes the final roster because there could easily be 7-10 guys who are not on the team right now who will be come September.

Seems a little to early to start worrying about records when we haven't even had the offseason unfold entirely yet.

I dunno ... think its too early to predict ... but i like that we have a new secondary coach and a new CB. Maybe he can pull this secondary outta the ditch but we are going on what 10 years since we had a descent safety on the team (Woodson).

There really isn't anything the Cowboys have done so far in free agency or will continue to do in the coming weeks and during the draft that will make me think they're any better than an 8-8 team. I predicted 8-8 prior to training camp last season so regardless of how the rest of this offseason unfolds unless the defense and coaching improves dramatically and we start seeing some real leadership on this team with players stepping up in Dec/Jan the 2012 season will be a carbon copy of last season.

Right now the Giants and Eagles are much better teams than the Cowboys one if not both will win at least 11 games next season. One will win the division and the other will end up a wildcard. Highly unlikely 3 teams in the NFC East will make the playoffs in 2012. If RG3 turns out to be a great player for Washington it's going to improve them dramatically and the Cowboys may find themselves battling to stay out of the basement for the next few years in the NFC East. If we don't start seeing a culture change in Dallas this upcoming season the same troubling trends we've been seeing with the Cowboys will continue. The team is clearly in a funk and lacks mental toughness this hasn't changed since Garrett took over.

If Garrett proves not to be the guy at HC the Cowboys are going to continue spinning their wheels while the rest of the teams in the division distance themselves from them. This is a critical season coming up for the Cowboys if they don't take a noticeable step forward the playoff drought will continue for quite some time.

For the Cowboys to become a team that can seriously contend for a championship every year they need strong leadership on the field and from their HC. Leadership on the field and from the HC has been one of the main issues with the team for years which is one reason they keep collapsing in Dec/Jan. We saw the same lack of fire and passion from the Cowboys against the Giants in the season finale last season with a playoff birth at stake that we saw from them against Philly in the season finale in 08 with their season on the line. That was 3 years ago under a different HC and we're still seeing the same lack of fire/passion and mental toughness. Ryan and Garrett seem like a real odd pairing and if the chemistry isn't there on the coaching staff it's not going to be there on the field it's that simple. Wade and Garrett never seemed to mesh because Jerry threw them together and said make it work and it didn't.

Garrett was hired as the OC BEFORE Wade was hired as the HC which shows just how disorganized the Cowboys are. All the teams in the division have proven head coaches who've put their own staffs together and have a lot more control over their teams than Garrett has with the Cowboys. They all have successful track records and have led teams to SB's except for the Cowboys whose coach is going through on the job training and is still learning how to manage the clock. The 2012 season will determine the direction the Cowboys are heading in. As for why I haven't posted much lately I've been very busy I was off the board for almost 4 months last offseason.

I was just glancing at the schedule and trying to guess how our year will go. I know it is too early for this but I was bored. I see this being another 8-8 year. I think we will be a better team this year but our schedule is EXTREMELY tough. So many games could go either way. Only slam dunk win games I see are Browns and maybe the Bucs at home.

The last 2 years I thought we were going to do real well. 2010 we were favored to win the division before the season started.. and then 2011 we had a CAKE schedule that we blew.

2012 looks dreadful but maybe the opposite will happen?

Best to wait as close to the season as possible. Injuries/draft/cuts/additions can change a lot from now and the start of the season.
