2014 and 2016 Playoff Appearances

This team has been so close in advancing in the playoffs over the last couple of appearances.

If not for a highly questionable call on a "incomplete" pass, in 2014 and an amazing throw by Rodgers to set up a game winning field goal in 2016, there is really no telling how far those teams could have gone. It wouldnt be crazy to say a superbowl appearance would have been made in those years.

Maybe low expectations is what this team needs.

Point being, if this team can just get a couple of plays and calls go their way, a Superbowl game is very possible.

I'm excited for this team and you should be too.

Anything can happen in the playoffs.

I'm with you on this season's appearance. Hope they get lucky and go on a run, but the offense is such a liability in games right now that even a stellar D likely won't be able to save them against playoff caliber teams. The last two weeks have really told a lot about that unit.

Not really sure if a superbowl is in the cards in all honesty but with this defense who knows ! I hope the D that showed up for the Saints Game comes firing on all cylinders throughout these playoffs if so we have a shot and thats all you can ask for !

Let's roll boys !

Hope we destroy Seattle We Owe them !

I'm sure I was with the majority in 2014 and 2016 thinking we were superbowl bound.

Look what happened when expectations were high.

Worse teams have gone on Super Bowl runs... may as well be us this year

I had a discussion with a Giant fan friend once (which turned into a nasty argument) as a response to him saying how Ive had it good as a Cowboy fan. I said sure they have the 5 championships but the Cowboys have a whole list of extremely close calls that were frustrating in one way or another. There were the 2 close games against Green Bay in the 60's (especially the Ice Bowl), Super Bowl 5, SB 10 and 13 which were both close, "the Catch" in 81, one of those NFC title games in the 90s against SF. I said the Boys have never squeaked into the playoffs and had a run, never won a championship when they didnt have a great regular season too. 1975 was the closest they came to that. I said I would love to have an unexpected run just once like your Giants did twice and the Packers recently. Are we due for one of those years?
 
In 2014 we were robbed.
In 2016, the offense started out slow, then found its way.
Remember the first two games, Zeke was not that great, and Dak was still figuring a few things out. Well a lot of things.
Well they all are still figuring things out.
And still favorable calls for GB

2017 they were robbed by Goodell.

2018 from 3-5 to 9-6 and division champs. A lot better defense and an offense that has been just good enough when the defense is playing top notch.
We will need that defense for sure. But what if, something all of a sudden clicks just a bit more on offense. Even just a little bit more.

They can make a run.
 
All the teams in the NFC are beatable, Rams and Saints included at home. If the Cowboys can run and mix in a lot of successful play action passes...and play some serious Dee (and get back to stopping the run and then getting pressure with 4 or 5), they can beat anybody.

But, until I see more from this coaching staff, I ain't holding my breath... But it's there for the taking.
 
The team under Garrett has come out slow in playoff games, especially at home. They’ve fallen behind 14-3 and 21-3. They need to start scoring early so they aren’t playing catch-up all game.
 
If our offense wasn’t so inconsistent I’d say SB. But defense does not win championships anymore. You don’t shutdown high powered offenses more than once. That being the saints or Rams. We also need some calls on our side which we NEVER get. Refs play a big part during the playoffs too. We need luck to go on some type of run. Let’s just hope for the best.

If we play Seattle I'll be very surprised if we advance. So harder to have lower expectations.
