Just want to go through our position groups and compare how we were last year compared to how we are looking to be this year.

QB- better this year, Romo will have a full offseason and will be ready week 1, instead of like last year where he clearly wasn't ready until about week 3.

RB- worse this year, our one major downgrade, but yes losing Murray is a huge loss, but don't turn your back on Randle.

WR- better this year, Beasley will be even more beastly this year, and Dez seems to be getting better every year.

OL- better this year, another year of experience and Collins will make a huge difference to what was already the best OL in the league.

DL- way better this year. Yes we lost 2 backups, but gained Gregory and Hardy and DLaw will have another year under his belt.

LB- better this year. Yes we lost Carter and that sucks (we didn't have Durant most of last year anyway), but Hitchens will be better, we got Lee back, and I think Gachkar is a guy to look out for

Secondary- better this year, even if Mo sucks he still should be able to play some role and adding Jones will be nice

Special team- worse this year, losing Harris will suck, but I think he is replaceable by someone on the team

So yea... I see no reason to believe we won't do good this year when 6 of 8 position groups have improved, some pretty drastically (like DL and OL, aka the trenches where the game is won and lost). Any disagreements?

Strong post/thread.

I agree.

I think we will be better at RB too overall.

I am not so sure about linebacker, at this point lots of injuries need to heal. I guess we could say the same about the DB's especially Mo.
Last year pre season we hid how awesome this Oline was, for me we are still hiding some talent at RB and WR/TE. I do think we overused Murray last year to the point that in some games I cringed, I think the committee approach has some merit and all the praise last year about Dunbar fizzled in the season with lack of touches. Same with TE Gavin Escobar he got injured in the Preseason Miami game and it clearly troubled him most of the year. That New York game last year showed just a little of his talent catching the ball.

I think there's a pretty real possibility that another RB will be added to the corps of our current crop. It may well come in the form of either a veteran RB being added before the regular season begins. Other than that, maybe someone like Synjyn Days becomes a pleasant surprise and makes the final roster. It's fairly conceivable that one or even two of our current RBs gets injured or cut. I'm surely not jynxing anyone here but we'll see. The final count of those in our RB corps is yet to be determined. I'll be slightly surprised if nothing changes but it's possible.

I could seriously see CJ2K being added soon, while he isn't what he once was he is still a guy that has had 1,400 overall yards almost every year he has been in the NFL and was part of the Jets #3 run attack last year.

I could see where that might come about if Dunbar fails to impress in TC and the preseason. CJ is up there is age and it would remain to be seen if the staff considers him anyway. If they were to bring him in for a looksee and he appeared to have something left in the tank, you never know. Of course, the money factor would come into serious consideration as well.
