The way this off season has went 2014 might have been our year. I'd say so far this has not been the off season JJ or Red was hoping for. Too many soap opera stories, too many guys could end up elsewhere, and now the Dez tag. Just seems like everyone would be seriously hungry. All sides give a little, and go win a SB.

I don't think anything has actually gone wrong yet. The tag for Dez was expected, IMO. The Cowboys are accustomed to media stories. Murray was expected to test free agency.

It might have been but I got my hopes up its going to be one of the next 2 years. But you never know we could be not very good next year.

Lucky for us the people doing the thinking for the cowboys have more nerve than you demonstrate in this post.

This year was the hardest route any team had in the playoffs. We got no favors the way it played out. Not saying we didn't have a shot but the defense was never going to get off the field in Green Bay.

IF we stay healthy we will get back. A lot of demons were put to bed and Garrett has them believing.

I expect us to be a lot better.

I'm Expecting us to be a little more improved and a lot of our guys will be healthier.

I'm not doom and gloom at all. But I think tagging Dez and letting DM walk is not the greatest of ideas. Add that to an off season that has included cops, TMZ, and another Cowboys rule , and it's not been a good start. Tagging Dez will cost us more in every aspect, and that is driving me nuts.

Tagging Dez keeps them from signing with another team once FA starts. Blame Dez and his time at Roc for stalling the negotiations. read the story behind this. And it has nothing to do with the Dez rumors. Murray, you have to ask yourself this question, Did murray make the OL better or did the OL make him better? You think he would gain 1800 behind the Colts OL? Murray lead the league in yards before being touched, and it wasnt even close.

I think I'll wait until something actually happens before throwing in the towel on next seaon. But to each his own.

Literally nothing has happened yet. I read in another post that out of all the free agency stuff going on that only 3 have been signed. It is waaay to early to throw in the towel on 2015. I am expecting big things next season.

Dallas is 16m under the cap right now. They tag Dez and it's 3m under.

They restructure Romo, TSmith and Witten and they are 28m under. They can still sign any and everyone.

They will not restructure Witten, but they will get Carr to take pay cut. so give Dallas 28-30mil in caproom after Dez franchise, which i think he will be sign cheaper before the league yr starts. But for now leave him franchised.

Dallas will need between 10-12mil to resign their own FA's and 4-5 for their draft picks. Thats anywhere between 14-17mil used out of 28-30. So Dallas would have roughly anywhere between, So Dallas would have anywhere between 9-16mil left. Dallas always leaves a few mil left incase. Thats not alot left for FAs.

While it might look like Dallas has alot of cap, its a tricky situation because Dallas has so many FAs who are starters or core contributors.

Its going to be real interesting to see how they perform next year. Was this a one year wonder?

A lot of things went right for them last year. 2015 will be a much tougher schedule. Maybe those things that went right , will go the other way?

Will other teams in the NFCE step up?

Will those rookies who performed so well, have another stellar year or a sophomore slump?

We will be expected to win this year. Its a different dynamic then being the underdog.

My gut tells me though, that we are going to make a run. I think Garrett is doing one hell of a job. I think the coordinators are extremely skilled at what they do. Leadership from Romo , witten, scandrick......mix in Dezs fire.....add in a few free agents, draft picks....

I think we will make a run. I think...... Now, we wont blow teams out. We will lose a few. But i think we make a run into the playoffs. I think. But to be honest. It wouldnt surprise me if we lose a few in the regular season, and then struggle down the stretch and miss the playoffs.....But for now. I am sticking with Garrett, the coordinators, romo, etc etc......that core leadership we have now is strong.
