The Dallas Cowboys released their first official depth chart of the 2014 season today. We review some early impressions.

The Cowboys released their first official depth chart of the 2015 season today because the NFL requires all teams to do so prior to the season opener.
Unfortunately, what the league requires and what the league gets are not always the same thing. So if you were hoping that this depth chart was put together by Jason Garrett and his coaching staff after hours of debate and hand wringing, you're bound to be disappointed. The depth chart probably originates somewhere in the PR department, and we're lucky, if it wasn't some intern who threw this together.

Be that as it may, it is the official depth chart, even if you may want to take it with a grain of salt, but it is still worth a look. Here's what the full depth chart currently looks like, with returning players marked in green, rookies marked in yellow, and free agent additions marked in orange:

Where is Bishop in the depth chart?
Can we see where the draft next year will select by position?\
Maybe this years signed Free Agents?

As to the draft, after Brinkley released. We now lost 8 players in FA from last year, we signed 5, but 2 were released. Brinkley and Jed Collins, who offset Spencer's contract. Brinkley had offset Durant.
According to the list I had from some time ago. Dependent on size of the contract.

We get a 4th for Murray, though I think it should be a 3rd, but we always get cheated on this. It seems.
Parnell / Hardy offsets and would have been a 5th.
Carter and Melton are 6th rounds each.
Durant / Brinkley was a 6th, so we get that one back
Harris / Gachkar offset a 6th
Selvie / McFadden, Spencer / Collins offset a 7th each

So it seems we should get a 4th and three 6ths. But hopefully it's better for the comp picks.

We had 22 FA for 2016 going into TC. Dez signed, Rivers retired, Cam Lawrence and Jenkins released. Now any players signed since then and on the roster i am not sure of.
butt he FA's that I have on my list prior to TC.
2016 FA:
Hardy, Claiborne, R. McClain, Bernadeau, Dunbar, C. White, Mincey, McCray, Hayden, Clutts, T. Crawford, Wilber, Weeden, J. Crawford, Hanna, Leary, Weems, Heath

Not sure if that's what you were looking for, but i posted it anyway.

Hard to believe it is just an oversight. If it was, you would think somebody over at DC.com would have noticed and it would have been corrected. I think it is either an indication that somebody else is going to be signed, or moved up from the practice squad....or maybe it is indication of one of the players who will be released when Hardy/RoMac are back.

I thought it was interesting to see that McFadden was behind Dunbar in the depth chart. Also, not surprising, but interesting that Byron Jones was ahead of Corey White. It just seemed that Corey outperformed Jones in training camp.
