I modified the trade chart to accommodate the comp picks.

This also shows which team owns which picks.

Example: R4-1 was pushed down from 97 to 100 with the comp picks added. It has the same value as 100 had in the original chart when 100 was originally R4-4.

Trading up with the Lions or Cards looks nice... but I think if Gordon/Gurley is there they won't be in a trading mood... trading with Pitt would be better but we would probably get back a 5th instead of a 4th.

Trading with Detroit is difficult on many facets. They don't have a 4th or 5th Rd pick so getting any pick back likely means a future pick. Add in the possibility, although I don't think its very likely, that they may want Gurley and its more difficult.

Thanks xw

As for grade talks, we just won't know until the draft is underway.
Unless a team is trading up near the top of the draft to grabs certain player, you really do to ow what team will make a swap until they know who's available to them.

Does the chart change from year to year or does it stay the same?

I ask because I remember San Francisco raping us in a trade and Stephen Jones said it was an equal trade on his chart.

There are different charts and nobody knows what specific teams use. Some draft are consider deep and some are considering top heavy which could change the thought process on trade value.

This chart is a general guideline. If a trade is drastically different from this chart then somebody probably got a bad deal. Most charts that vary from this one give a higher value to later picks relative to the top picks.

The trade before the Frederick pick was #18 for #31 and #74. By this trade chart it should have been for #60 instead of #74. That's a difference of 14 spots, or less than 1/2 round. This would correspond to the newer chart that puts more value on the later picks relative to the earlier picks. Some people also thought that was a deep draft in the mid rounds which would give that 3rd round pick a higher value.

The issues with many fans/media is that they would have thought getting #64 was drastically better than #65 because 64 would have been a 2nd round pick while #65 would be a third round pick. Most fans are not considering where within the 2nd or 3rd round the pick is located.

These trade charts are always misleading. If I want to make a move for a guy in Round 2 who our scouted rated as a 15-20 pick then I'm inclined to give up more than what the chart says.

Value comes from who is on the board - not a generic guide

I'm kinda hoping the Saints get antsy when we are on the clock and want to trade up if we don't have anybody left with a 1st round grade. They have a lot of holes, I could see a WR like Strong tempting them or even an O lineman like Clemmings. Especially since they have 2 1sts, 2 3rds and no 4th. #27 and #127 for #31 and #75...Get er' done Jerrah
