With all the talk of Zeke and Dak, I think we tend to forget the other huge picks in this draft to date:

1. Elliot- NFL rushing leader, Pro Bowler, possible MVP - A+
2. Smith - Top 5 player before injury, 2017 starter - Incomplete
3. Collins - Starter, 5 sacks / 15 hurries - A
4. Tapper - Pass rusher / injured at training camp - Incomplete
4. Prescott - Pro Bowler, possible MVP A+
5. Brown - Starter, 1 INT - B
6. Frazier - S/T - C

If Smith and Tapper end up being what their potential is, we might have two more starters. This class may end up being one of the best ever.

Brown definitely deserves an A.

I don't think we are 13-2 right now if he didn't step up and hold his own with the injuries to Mo/Scandrick.

Both Collins and Brown are playing on a level you expect out of a first round pick. Zeke/Dak are playing on the level of legends.

I initially scoffed at the idea proposed by the thread title...

Then I thought to myself -- Man it's rare to have any rookie in the top 5 of the MVP running. To have two rookies in the running for MVP is absolutely mind blowing.

Any draft class can't be judged for at least 5-10 years, however, I don't think a draft class has ever looked this promising this early.

It was a good draft class, but best ever? Cmon man

The 64 draft class was better...

Hard to argue with this assessment. If we drafted a pass rusher in the first two rounds and they produced 6-8 sacks we'd all be pretty high on them. For Collins to produce nearly that (5) with a game to go as a 3rd round DT who wasn't starting early in the year after missing most of TC is very encouraging indeed.

It's too early to say best ever, which OP acknowledges.

But I highly doubt you could find a better all-around rookie draft class in team history, perhaps even NFL history. We have two MVP candidates, and two more rookies who have been outstanding (Brown and Collins).

Looking around a bit - some of the great ones:

1974 Steelers draft class: 4 HOFers: Lynn Swann and John Stallworth, linebacker Jack Lambert and center Mike Webster

1964 Cowboys: 3 HOFers Mel Renfro, Bob Hayes and Roger Staubach

1958 Packers: 2 HOFers: LB Ray Nitsche, RB Jim Taylor, G Jerry Kramer,

I give ABrown an A, if Collins gets an A.

It could be, especially if Jaylon pans out, but we won't really know for a while.

But I can't remember a rookie draft class having this big of an immediate impact.

I'm saying as rookies in year one, one of the best ever. Who knows 10 years down the line what happens, until then.

Facepalm for saying ONE of the best ever? It is one of the best ever, no doubt.
Yes it's facepalm worthy. Its waytoo early to tell whether or not this class is one of the best ever. What if these guys flame out over the next few years?

Best ever for their rookie season. Not best ever 10 years down the road.

I love our draft this year and it may end up being the best ever but 1975 was a good year.

It netted 11 multi-year starters, 5 Pro-bowlers with 20 combined pro-bowl appearances, 2 All-pro players with 9 combined first team All-pro selections and 1 Hall-of-Famer.

Randy White HOF DT 14 Yrs Played 9 Pro bowls 7 All Pro
Thomas Henderson LB 6 Yrs Played 1 Pro bowls
Burton Lawless G 6 Yrs Played
Bob Breunig LB 10 Yrs Played 3 Pro bowls
Pat Donovan T 9 Yrs Played 4 Pro bowls
Randy Hughes DB 6 Yrs Played
Rolly Woolsey DB 4 Yrs Played
Mike Hegman LB 12 Yrs Played
Mitch Hoopes P 3 Yrs Played
Herbert Scott G 10 Yrs Played 3 Pro bowls 2 All Pro
Scott Laidlaw RB 6 Yrs Played

If Smith and Tapper turn out to be healthy impact players then by quality I would have to give the "best of" to 2016.

Don't forget Rico, who I think will be a very good player next year for the Cowboys.:D And Darius Jackson was a good pick also. I think he will be starting for Cleveland next year.
