After the 2016 season the 2016 draft looked like it might be the draft of the century. After the 2017 season the 2016 draft class has a bit less luster. So how will we view this draft class after the 2018 season which would be three full years of games?

Elliott- I think he will look like more dominant than ever and put a huge stamp of approval on his selection.

Jaylon--His arrow will be pointing up. The first season we got nothing. Second season he at least played, some good and some bad. I think he has a breakout year this year.

Collins--I think if they ply him in his right position 3T he will be better than solid.

Tapper---- Gets on the field and we see why they chose him over Dak.

Dak--- Rebound year for him. Great things are in store.

Brown-- shakes off the bad plays and returns to rookie firm

7th round receiver. He becomes Baby Dez and starts balling.

I may be missing a couple but I think this draft class arrow will be pointing up. Highest value so far after year 3.

Any comments?

Kavon Fraizer, Rico Gathers and Darius Jackson I think we’re in that group. The 7th I think was a linemen Gibson? Think he had red dredlocks but looked way off the pace.

I don’t think it will be viewed much differently, maybe slightly worse. Dak and Brown will always be great picks based on the value extracted so far even if they never play another down in the NFL. Zeke will never be a bad pick but he looks slightly worse this year especially with Ramsey’s rise and the position value of their contracts. Smith will go down as a bad pick unless he instantly becomes an All-Pro starting in 2018.
Tapper is likely the wildcard that could make a dramatic shift in the way this draft is viewed.

None of it matters if Dak continues his downward trajectory.

Baby Dez is Noah Brown, he was drafted in 2017. He's a list of the 2016 draft class:

Round Pick # Overall Name Position College
1 4 4 Ezekiel Elliott Running back Ohio State
2 3 34 Jaylon Smith Linebacker Notre Dame
3 4 67 Maliek Collins Defensive Tackle Nebraska
4 3 101 Charles Tapper Defensive End Oklahoma
4 37 135 Dak Prescott Quarterback Mississippi State
6 14 189 Anthony Brown Cornerback Purdue
6 37 212 Kavon Frazier Safety Central Michigan
6 41 216 Darius Jackson Running Back Eastern Michigan
6 42 217 Rico Gathers

Nothing against Jaylon but I’m still not thrilled with the typical “Jerry” pick. Even if he starts “balling” this year, we’ve already wasted 2 years on a 2nd round draft pick. Maybe he’ll get healthy just in time for a big contract that we or may not be able to afford. Either way, we should have got more out of a 2nd rounder IMO.

Zeke: Never like RB’s that high (no pun intended)

Dak: Jury’s still out

Collins: I think he’ll be even better

The rest......meh, we’ll see.

I disagree. You take Dak out of that.....and you still have some contributors there. I'd take that draft this year.
I still love every pick in that draft.

I do too. That draft was still incredible. I may feel different if Dak, Zeke, Brown and Collins completely fall off. But as of now? I wouldn't do anything different.

If you have a draft that good where you hit almost nearly on every pick....and then go 13-3....Jaylon didn't hurt you.....but he better be a player to take that risk. Not just a solid player but a great player. Because you could've got two years out of a starter.
