1. Austin Hooper, Stanford – 3rd Round

A big body who can dominate catch pointswith his long arms and massive hands, Hooper is undeterred by contact as a receiver, and has the size to develop into a very good blocking tight end. Routes need work and refinement to gain consistent separation against man coverage.

2. Hunter Henry, Arkansas – 3rd Round

Henry is polished and technical in his approach, but lacks upside and is an average overall athlete. He currently leaves a lot to be desired as a blocker too, but the effort, physical tools and experience in a pro-style scheme are all there. Henry isn’t exciting and won’t create mismatches in the secondary, but he’s one of the more sure-handed targets in the draft.

3. Stephen Anderson, California – 3rd Round

An ultra-athletic tight end who projects best to a move role in the NFL, Anderson is the most explosive pass-catcher among the 2016 class, offering the ability to stretch the field with straight-line speed or win in the short-intermediate game with strong routes. The knock? He’s 6-2, 230, and likely too light to handle full-time in-line duties despite his physical mindset.

4. Nick Vannett, Ohio State – 4th Round

Vannett was seldom used as a receiver at Ohio State, but might be the best blocker at his position in the entire draft. Vannett is big, long, powerful and plays with sneaky athleticism in his routes. I thought he was impressive in Mobile, but his pro day numbers left a lot to be desired.

5. Jerell Adams, South Carolina – 5th Round

Very linear pass catcher who has the burst and long speed to threaten the seams consistently, but lacks any refinement as a route runner. Really stiff and will struggle to sink his hips and burst out of his breaks, Adams may always be limited in his area of impact as a receiver, but not many tight ends in this class can win vertically. He’s also a decent in-line blocker, with the length andstrength to continue to improve at the next level.

I read that Henry resembles Witten. I could see us taking him if he's there in the 3rd.

This is an absolutely awful TE class.

I'm still really confused as to why O.J. Howard didn't declare. He would probably have been a 1st Rd pick this year and definitely the 1st TE taken.
