2016 NFL Draft (my thoughts)

My thoughts on 2016 and looking ahead preparing for the Draft and needs:

1) Ezekiel Elliot, RB Ohio St (Cowboys pick First Round at #6)

2) Conner Cook, QB Michigan St (Cowboys 2nd Round pick will require a tradeup
into the 1st round pick 20 to 25 cost both
2017 2nd and 4th Round picks)

3) Sterling Shepard, WR Okla (playmaker with 4.4 speed and nice compliment to
Dez on outside; Steve Smith similar)

4) KeiVaree Russell, CB Notre Dame (secondary playmakers needed)

5) Brian Poole, CB Florida (secondary playmakers needed)

6) Terrance Smith, OLB/ILB Florida St (Linebacker playmakers needed)

Improves the back 7 and allows Byron Jones to focus as a Safety.

If we use a Top Ten pick on a TB, yikes. You could probably trade out of the Top Ten and still get Elliott.

And there is no way I trade up for Connor Cook. The back end of your draft is not too bad.

If we draft Elliott with the 6th overall pick i'm not watching the rest of the draft. If we really want Elliott then it needs to happen in a trade back not with the 6th pick. Too many defensive impact players will be available and this years free agent pool of RB will be much better then last years.
