Ezekiel Elliott, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Maliek Collins, Charles Tapper, Anthony Brown, Kavon Frazier, Darius Jackson and Rico Gathers. Only the first 4 will probably ever make good but I think it was definitely one of our best draft classes ever.

Still need to wait a few years IMO. Half of them might not even make the team this year. Zeke is a beast but a #4 overall pick would be questionable if he leaves in 3 years. Jaylon, Collins and Dak still need to prove they'll be Pro Bowl caliber players or league average.

If Jalen Smith becomes a Pro Bowl level talent, and Zeke and Dak continue their 2016 performances, then 3 of their first 4 picks will be in the top tier of NFL talent. That’s pretty salty.

The final judge of all drafts is not just based on individual performances or accolades. A draft’s ultimate value will be judged on how it helped the team achieve playoff success. For example, the 1964 and 1975 drafts are the gold standards for Cowboys drafts. The ‘89 and ‘92 drafts were good too.

The ‘64 class included HOFers Mel Renfro, Bob Hayes and Roger Staubach. Between those three guys, there were 15 playoffs wins, 5 SB appearances, and 5 NFC Championship appearances. The ‘75 team had the famous “Dirty Dozen” draft class which produced HOFer Randy White, All Pro Hollywood Henderson, Pro bowlers Bob Bruenig and Pat Donovan and others. They won 8 playoff games, played in 3 SBs, and 5 NFC Championship games.

When the 2016 draft class produces some playoff success, we can talk.

I'm curious as to the others in your statement about half might not even make the roster.

Only 3 might not make the roster in Rico, Tapper and Jackson. That being said those 3 have a great chance at making the roster as well.

Zeke, Jaylon, Collins, Dak, Brown, Frazier are all locks.

We need production, playoff success and THEN we can revisit this topic. But I hear ya...the 2016 draft class was pretty incredible,no doubt. In fact, we been drafting like a mutha since about 2012-13. We been on a hot streak over the last 5 years drafting. Its showing..but now its time to get to the dance and come home with the ring.

This year's draft looks pretty promising, too.

Vander Esch, Williams, Gallup, and Armstrong all look like players.
Armstrong may end up starting over Taco and Gregory opposite of DLAW. That's how much he has improved in camp. We got a ways to go,but he sure looks like he can be a disruptor at RE.

Dallas was drafting #1/32 that year. That’s how you get Aikman. ‘16 is deeper.
Well, do put in context, then, superlatives man!
When one professes the best draft one needs to provide CONTEXT!
Or do you not know that, Yank?

And how is Zeke going to leave in 3 years?

Also, Dak has aalready made a pro bowl. Is there some other criteria for "pro bowl caliber" that I'm unaware of?

If dak and jaylon work out, getting a franchise qb, and a top 5 DRAFT pick MLB, is amazing. And that is not counting their 1st round pick, which might end up being the top rb in the league.

If dak rises to the top, considering the positions of those 3, it will be amazing

It helps when the team “ahead” of you for the top pick after 15 games in 1988 does the unthinkable and wins the last game of the year. A game they had zero business winning. Given the angst around here over beating Philly the last game last year, imagine had the Cowboys won the last game of 1988 dropping us to #2 in the ‘89 draft!

Youthful exuberance vs age and experience.

It's possible all of them could make the team this season.

Brown and Frazier likely play significant snaps.

It seems like a tie at this point between D.Jackson and Bo.

Tapper is very close to making it depending on how many DL they keep.

Rico is anybody's guess. The coaches seem to have soured on him but he is likely to be on an NFL team this season.
