What’s in a name? Plenty in the 2017 NFL Draft. In looking over my own spreadsheet with 299 names on it, some of the trends I am seeing.
· Multiples you ask? There are 8 Jones, 6 Williams, 5 each of Browns, Davis’ and Johnson’s, 4 Taylor’s, and 3 each of Evan’s, Walkers, White’s and Wilson’s
· Feeling Presidential? We have the following covered: Adams, Jackson, Grover (yeah, I know, a first name for Stewart but how many Grover’s do you know?) Wilson, Johnson, Ford, McKinley, Taylor
· Illegal entries? I don’t think so unless you think OJ (Howard) will “cut” thru defenses or if Bolles and Boulware have names that would be REALLY tempting for a guy like Gregory
· Color Blind? Ask the 5 Browns or 3 White’s
· It is fast approaching Easter which makes me feel religious and that is good with the likes of Christian (McCaffery), Budda (Baker), Noah (Brown), Godchaux (Davon) being around
· Fans of comics? We have a Calvin (Munson) & Dobbs (Josh)
· No War Daddy for us, but how about a Mama (Damien)
· Gotta eat, right? You a Hunter (Dimick)? No? Can’t catch a Fish (Smithson) without a Wormley (Chris), but you can always have a Taco (Charlton), perhaps you can Sprinkle (Jeremy) a little Peppers (Jabrill) on that
· Oh, and for every Hooker (Malik), there are 5 Johns(ons) (too much?)
What the Heck (Jon), when it is all said and done, may the force be with you Obi (Melifonwu) Wan and remember, there is only one player that is Myles (Garrett) ahead of the rest, as far as being the consensus #1.
Here are my Top 12....this based on using a bunch of other mocks and scoring everything; then taking the opinions of many of the NFL pundits out there to tweak it...more to come
