Here are the 2017 free agents and what I think the Cowboys will do:

Rolando McClain GONE
Morris Claiborne PROBABLY GONE
Ron Leary PROBABLY GONE
Barry Church KEEP HIM OR WILCOX
Mark Sanchez KEEP HIM OR MOORE
Andrew Gachkar PROBABLY GONE
Darren McFadden GONE
Lance Dunbar GONE
Jack Crawford PROBABLY GONE
Gavin Escobar PROBABLY GONE
Terrell McClain PROBABLY GONE
Justin Durant PROBABLY GONE
Johsua Thomas GONE
Terrance Williams GONE
Kellen Moore KEEP HIM OR SANCHEZ
J.J. Wilcox KEEP HIM OR CHURCH
Brice Butler PROBABLY GONE

The only big issue I see here is with the secondary.

Claiborne will get a big check when there are 32 teams bidding on him. I suspect the Cowboys will make efforts to sign him, but the price will get too high. Fortunately we have Brown and Scandrick. Will need a CB in the draft or FA.

Wilcox/Church. I would think the Cowboys will go hard to retain one of the two, probably Church. I suspect the salary needed won't be too painful.

Butler and Williams ultimately are JAGs. Keep or replace won't make much difference. I'd sure like the cowboys to get a WR/KR when they replace.

Kellen Moore could be retained on a minimum contract...so maybe it's him over Sanchez.

McClain and Crawford. I'll defer to other posters as I don't have a meaningful evaluation on these guys. But this upcoming draft is purported rich on defense ends. Tapper will also hopefully be contributing. McClain is a starter on our depth chart but is more of a rotational player, IMO.

I think Mo signs another 1 year deal.. He has never played a full season, no team will sign him to big money if he cant' stay on the field.

I actually like Wilcox more than Church with Jones at FS. I hope they keep him

Leary - they need to sign him if at all possible.

Sanchez is better than Moore. Shouldn't be a question if they have to choose one over the other.

McClain I would try to keep as well.

I would keep Williams if possible and draft a WR in the 3rd or 4th.

Everyone else mentioned - see ya!!

Rolando - who cares
MO- not getting a big contract - injured again will keep his value down to a level the Cowboys can afford if they want to
Leary - yeah, gone unless we can start Lael in Frees position
Church - reasonble salary - if not Wilcox
Sanchez- please let him go

I don't think anybody else on that list gets a big offer at all. I think we can keep Butler or Williams at a very decent deal.

At WR, I think T-Will will get overpaid by another team. Look what some FA WR's got last off-season.

Allen Hurns 4 years/40 mil....gross.
Marvin Jones 5 year/40 mil
Mohamed Sanu 5 years/32 mil

I bet we could get Brice Butler back reallllly cheap. I wouldn't mind Butler as the #2 and drafting a WR to groom as the eventual #2. Dak and Butler have shown to have good chemistry in limited opportunities for Butler.

I imagine we will have extra salary cap space once Tony leaves. My priority would be to re-sign Leary, Claiborne, Williams, Church and pick up some help with pass rush.

Cowboys did massively well in grabbing Leary as an undrafted player. He was viewed as an injury risk from day 1, but team saw potential and have been massively rewarded. The production per dollar has been off the charts.

Ron an interesting one to watch hitting the open market. Are teams still worried about his longterm health? Will someone offer him a big long term contract?

Guys forgot Carr.

I would keep T. McClain with plaing time bonuses, funny he is healthy in a contract year.

I would offer the same to Claiborne, either way I offer Carr a team friendly contract, Claiborne still needs to prove he can actually survive a 16 game schedule.

I would keep butler at a cheaper deal than I would offer Williams if I was to offer Williams a deal, williams at least has a track record, butler barely has a track sample.

If Romo stays get rid of moore and Sanchez and draft a later round QB do it every year if need be.

The rest can go or be gone.

Can't see Mo getting a 'big' contract. Injuries, and it took him how many years to finally get comfortable in this 'basic' scheme. Could see him getting a cheaper 2-3 year deal with no guaranteed in that 3rd year.

I have no idea about Leary. I imagine they'd want him back on a shorter deal, but you have Collins who has a ton of potential and who will be a FA after 2017.

You also didn't mention Carr. I think Carr is a lock just because he's durable, he'll be cheap, and locking him down in case we don't get Mo helps us a lot. Can't have two starting CB's leave in one year, especially when one's a cheap vet who doesn't miss games. That throws a wrench in your draft plans because you have a glaring need, when we should be focusing on the DL.

Between Church and Wilcox, I think the overwhelming consensus on the team would be Church. Wilcox has improved this year, but if you're keeping one.

I think they'll try and keep McClain so the 1tech will be locked down with Thornton. If we attempt to sign a FA DE then Davis/Crawford are both probably gone, if not one of them will probably be kept, likely the cheaper one.

The big cap savings happen in 2018. We only gain $5 mil by releasing Romo next season (though we shed all of our remaining $20 mil obligation)

I think we keep more than two players. I can't see us going into the offseason with so many new additions.

I think we keep Mo, Brice, Leary, Church, Moore and Crawford.

We cannot fill every need in one FA and draft - we are going to have to keep some of them.
McClain - Been gone, Stay gone.
Claiborne - Will be resigned to another 1, maybe 2 year prove it deal. As he still hasn't played a full year.
Leary - Is gone, he wanted out last year ! Has been great, but he's gone - and we will get a decent compensatory pick. (Collins is our LG)
Wont go thru every single player but I would keep T. McClain, Butler or Williams - whoever willing to sign reasonable deal. Same for Wilcox or Church.
I never thought it possible, But I see Romo traded in off-season, so one of Sanchez or Moore will have to be bought back.
Will Smith be ready ? (MLB)
Will Green be able to unseat Free ?
Need DE help, both FA and Draft.
Need a CB early in Draft.
Also need to look at TE, Hanna and Swaim and a draft pick ?
Also, will need a WR in the draft somewhere as well.
Gonna be a very interesting off-season !

McClain, Leary, and Durant would be on my list of keeps. The rest I could take or leave and not care.

Mo ands Leary would be my priorities. All the others are replaceable to me.

I thought Carr had one more year left.

I think we keep one of Mo or Carr and same with church and Wilcox
I think we keep butler
Leary and twill are gone. Most of the rest doesn't really matter much anyway
I expect us to draft a WR or CB much earlier than most just because of where we will pick I don't expect pass rushers to fall that don't have serious red flags
But we shall ser

id love leary but isnt Martins contract almost up? id prefer to extend him. im no cap guru so maybe signing leary will have no effect on other OL signing/extension.
