2018 Draft QB Class is dud

Wasn't Josh Allen drafted then too? Right now, and besides Jackson, they all look like bums. But they all have one thing in common as they drop back and throw their terrible toss. They're all on either bad teams or have bad offensive lines. How do you think Jarred Goff would do on one of those teams? Sam Darnold and Mayfield have absolutely no time to throw the ball. Coaching plays a role too. The Browns run a lot of play action with intermediate to long routes with a RB check down. That RB is usually helping out to block on most plays so that takes him out of it. Causing Baker to hold the ball a bit longer. Time he rarely has.

I get to watch Jets games. Darnold was sacked 18 times by the eagles and Jags. We won't even get into the Patriots game. Those sacks weren't coverage sacks. He had immediate pressure at the end of his drop. No QB can play like that. Again, poor offensive line play and the plays called are a lot of deep crossing routes. The guy has 1 second to throw the ball and they're calling deep crosses. Unless he's playing the Cowboys it's not going to work. So I really can't call either one of them busts. I just don't know.

Even a worse situation for Rosen. There is no way you can evaluate any QB on the Miami Dolphins after being drafted by the garbage Cards.

One more thing I have to mention. Sam Darnold along with Jameis Winston and Brett Favre threw a pick 6 on the very first pass of their NFL career. Every one of these QBs are turnover machines. I know Favre is in the Hall, but I have yet to see a franchise QB prior to him or since that was so reckless with the ball. Especially for a QB that played on pretty good teams. It didn't matter. Turnover machine.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think Tony Romo threw a pick on his first pass. Not a pick 6. Is there a list of first pass interceptions anywhere?

Tony Romo's first pass was a 20 plus yard completion to Sam Hurd, then he hit T.O. for a TD.

That's why I said I wasn't 100%. I just remembered the game he replaced Bledsoe for good. I couldn't recall if he had come in prior to that.

I watch Allen alot being local. He has improved, but he is still not what you would consider a QB. He has made clutch plays though. I think he will wind being the new Joe Flacco

Call it overrated. Geez.

Mayfield
Rosen
Darnold

All busts imo.

Jury still out for Lamar Jackson but his style won’t do him any favors.
Mayfield has zero offensive line. He won't bust.

I don't really know anything about the 2018 drafted QB's, but that's a position that takes years to fully develop. Calling them all busts now? Ridiculous. It shows a complete lack of understanding of the complexities of the game.

Sam Darnold is too reckless with the ball.
Yesterday he tried to make throws that either weren't there or while being sacked.

He may have talent, but he needs a real QB coach and needs to listen.

The Dolphins dropped some really good passes from Rosen. He has a lot of potential if he sticks with it. I know Fitz is moving that team better, but I would not give up on him yet.

Yep. I never bought into any of these guys coming out of college. All had so many flaws. The crowning of these dudes all that offseason was nauseating. That is all we heard about was Allen, Rosen and Darnold. All 3 will be spares. Baker will flame out like Manziel. Lamar Jackson will easily be the best. This is the dude I liked the most coming into the draft. But they trashed his name for some reason. He had more skills than the others but because he isn't some big drop back pocket passer, they will diminish what he can actually do. Ever since he took over for the Ravens, they have done nothing but win. They are legit.

2006 season

Romo during the 2006 preseason
Romo began the season as a backup to starter Drew Bledsoe. He took his first regular season snap at quarterback in a home game against the Houston Texans on October 15. His first NFL pass was a 33-yard completion to wide receiver Sam Hurd. His only other pass of the game was a two-yard touchdown pass, his first in the NFL, to wide receiver Terrell Owens.[21]

Its still a team sport. The Jets OL is getting Darnold killed. Mayfield's offense was designed by a moron. Jackson is having a league MVP type season. Buffalo is very happy with Josh Allen. All of these young QB need help whether that be folks blocking up front or coaches putting them in positions to succeed. Not everyone gets dropped behind an OL with 3 pro bowlers and the best rb in the league as happened to Dak Prescott.

I see him more as a Mariotta type. Maybe Jameis Winston or Josh Freeman. Not sure he'll ever be accurate enough to take the next step.
