2018 NFL mock draft: Full 7-round projections

It's a big effort to do 7 rounds all teams so I tip my hat but a few I don't agree with from the Cowboy's perspective.

Rd 1. I don't want another 5'10 corner. We've got about 4 that are really good
Rd 2. I don't want a 6'5 contested catch guy that can't separate
Rd 3. I like Shepard
Rd 4. I don't like seeing Smythe here when Goedert went in the 50's and we took a 6'5 WR.
Rd 6. Don't know much about Matthew Thomas
Rd 7. Don't like the LSU OT and figure a 7th round one isn't going to be too competitive for the swing tackle job

Dan would you not be happy with Ward at 19!?!?!?

He's arguably the best cover guy in this draft. I know he doesn't have great length, but dude is a monster. I think Chido/BJ gives us more than enough length to pair up against the big bodies if we want to try to play the match up game.

I'm also not too big a fan of Tate, but one big body WR I'm growing on is St. Brown. I think he's an above average athlete for his size and I can't wait to see what he runs.

Anytime you can get top 10 talent at 19 you have to pull the trigger on it. Ward may not be a top need but you draft BPA every time in the first round.

Some really weird choices for the Cowboys.

Same players available I'd go:
1 Ward as well - too good a value to pass up here.
2 Christian Kirk WR Texas A&M - Two years ago, the Cowboys attempted to do some creative stuff with JAG Lucky Whitehead; Kirk would add a new wrinkle to the offense and improve the kick return game (Switzer is okay on punts IMO).
3 Jesse Bates S Wake Forest - I think someone is going to steal this kid who would have been a 1st round pick in 2019. True centerfielder with ball skills.
4 Lorenzo Carter DE/LB Georgia - Is he an end? a Sam linebacker? Ideal for the often-discussed Leo spot.
6 Folorunso Fatukasi DT - A decent 1Tech in the 6th round.
7 Skai Moore LB - A tackling machine at South Carolina, worst case scenario is he helps on Special Teams.

If James gets closer (e.g. past the Cards), we should move up and snag him.

I know the FO loves telling stories about how much value they got out of certain picks but I'd love to see us get aggressive.

Pass in Vea for another corner??
Ward at least was a value there.

Auden Tate as the 50th best player in this draft was a disgusting joke that would have me jumping off a tall building.

After redeeming things with Nathan Shephard, the rest of the picks were reaches like Durham Smythe, Matthew Thomas and Weathersby.

Awful mock. It also does not help there were no comp picks.

I don't see the reasoning to do one without at least taking a crack at the comp picks. It affects a team's philosophy if they have a lot of them.
