NFC East champs

1. Philadelphia Eagles (23 votes: Baldinger, Battista, Bergman, Bhanpuri, Carr, Casserly, Cersosimo, Chadiha, Dameshek, Filice, Gbajabiamila, Grant, Hanzus, Jones, Mariucci, O'Hara, Parr, Patra, Rank, Reece, Rosenthal, Schein, Sessler)
2. Dallas Cowboys (6 votes: Blair, Brandt, Hall, Jones-Drew, Thomas, Trotter)

Why Steve Mariucci chose the Eagles: The Eagles return their key offensive pieces, including Carson Wentz, and added depth to the backfield with Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders, while the defense also returns plenty of starters. From top to bottom, Doug Pederson's group is the best in the East

IMO, that is insulting and on nfl.com no less - hope the team sees this

That could mean the giants or Commanders will win the division!

Eagles-Chiefs seems to be the popular Super Bowl pick.

Cowboy fans have to understand that outside of our circle, a lot of media, analysts, etc., think highly of Wentz, Pederson, and the Eagles in general.

Predictions aren't important. Winning matters. Either we will better than the Eagles or we won't. That will be settled on the field. We have a good team, possibly a great team with Zeke on the field and the defense playing lights out.

My feelings is the that this team will either make the NFCCG or we will move on from this coaching staff.

I’m ok with any of the national talking heads picking the Fecals. More incentive for the Hot Boyz.

Eagles look solid on paper but I’m not buying the hype not yet anyways. At the same time I’m not penciling in the Cowboys for anything either. The homer in me says Cowboys but I wouldn’t be surprised to see both as a little above average one 9-7 the other 10-6 take your pick

Dak is diisrespected by the national media. It is what it is.

These predictions are all meaningless. The reason these writers or media types aren’t picking us isn’t “disrespect”. It’s history.

There hasn’t been a repeat NFC East champ for 15 years so I understand why few are picking us.

History is something we will have to change and overcome this year, which we can. Respect is earned. Here are the history points to overcome:
  • Dallas hasn’t had back to back playoff seasons since 2006-2007.
  • Dallas hasn’t had back to back playoff wins since ‘95.
  • We haven’t repeated as NFC East champs since ‘95-‘96.
In short all this “disrespect” as some of us like to call it is nothing more than history reminders. The only way to change that is to change the history of the last 24 years.

I guarantee if Wentz replaced Dak, the media would be picking Dallas.

Respectfully disagree. IMO they’re picking Philly mostly on history which has consistently shown we are inconsistent. If Romo were still playing they would pick the beagles because history suggests we will fold.

We just need to prove em wrong for a change.

Wentz has no history to warrant that many votes. It fhat was Foles, ok.

Not just the media. Players leaving him out of the top 100 is telling too, especially since it's basically a popularity contest, and if Dak is nothing at all, he's still popular.

I have to talked to scouts and coaches from other teams who do not think highly of him. The general consensus of people I've dealt with say things like "great guy" "great leader" "ideal for what Cowboys want to do" but "not an elite quarterback"

Before Fan Boys get all upset, I'm a Dak fan and I hope we re-sign him at a reasonable rate. I do think he is ideal for what we do but he's better than what his critics give him (no) credit for. I actually defend him in these little debates. He just isn't highly coveted around the league.

Good, I want all the attention and pressure on the other teams, not ours.

but they have won 3 of the last 5 NFCE titles and defeated the Giggles twice last year, current tends are more reliable predictors than long term stats

First off, Cox vs Williams is the only match up they win 'top to bottom"

the return of Fredrick and Witten immediately fix our red zone O and Covington, Hyder, Quinn, and Hill (in order of magnitude) seriously upgrading the DL,
which will empowers an incredibly talented back 7

the addition of Howard and Sanders is rather lite by comparison, and Wentz is very likely to get beat up by our defense

Again...all we have to do to gain respect is to be consistent by winning. Make the playoffs again this year, then win some playoff games. Boom! Respect earned.

I’m sorry but winning 3 “division championships” in 5 years and a wild card playoff game every once in a while doesn’t garner much respect. That’s just the way it is.

Look, I hate the eagles and their drunk fans. But they have won more playoff games the last 10 years than we have won in over 20 years. The only cure for “disrespect” is a playoff winning streak, which we haven’t had in 24 years. Let’s go get it!

That would hold more water if it hadn't been the case before last season. But it absolutely was.

There's a lot more to it than just talent. It takes some luck along the way.
