2021 draft proves McClay is overrated

They start some of their rookies because they’re good so yeah, it does.
They start because there’s no competition. Rookies have to start when the front office is more worried about collecting 5th/6th round comp picks than adding talent to improve the team

Well, that’s the haters take. Hate on bro.

Guyton, Beebe, Kneeland, Liufau and Carson. All are going to be great.
Guyton is already a bust with a reputation as a holding machine. Bee bee i think will be fine kneeland i like best. Liufau was a reach. Carson is garbage

So is your argument that a team that is known for not spending in free agency also doesn't draft well?

If so, I would love to hear your thoughts on how they had 3 straight 12 win seasons.
Being in the worst division of the NFC does held quite a bit. In any other division they'd barely made the play offs.

These 12 win seasons mean absolutely nothing when you put them into context. And it's not just about play off results. But also whom they won against and lost to. How they won (Look no further than last Thursday).

All those wins were against weak teams and a crappy nfc east. look at what they have against good teams and in the post season

Joseph and Wright (listening to his coach), when you could have drafted Samuel and St.Brown is shockingly bad but every team misses in every draft. SF drafted Lance third overall that year, Baltimore missed on Bateman in rd 1, took Ben Cleveland in rd 3 when Robert Hainsey went a pick later.

It's literally what's happening.

You can argue the merit of the strategy, but denying it occurs is weird.

Liufau started because of this FO's approach to the LB position the last two years. He is getting exposed now. Luckily Overshown is getting better by the moment and the weird strategy of not playing him more will be abandoned.

The two rookies starting on the OL had Chuma Edoga and Brock Hoffman as competition.

Carson is starting at CB was due to the team deciding they didn't need to bring Gilmore back at $4.6M.

Parsons' and Tanks' injuries are unfortunate, but the lack of depth on the DL is getting exposed now because the FO replaced Armstrong, Fowler, and Hankins with guys who were all sitting on their couch in late August.

Those chickens have come home to roost.

And so far they’re all doing well.
