Watch the US screw this all up and beat England today but lose to Iran on Tuesday. I know the US won’t beat England but one can hope
Crazier things have happened but I'd take it!!!.
Complete chaos but I still like our GD with at least 4 points to get through in that scenario.
Even if we lose to Iran I'd suspect it is a close match.

If not they don't deserve to go through.

The US will bring a similar speed advantage that England did without the backing skill. England scored 6.

The US was pretty dominant versus Wales in the first half then were outplayed in the 2nd half when they ran out of juice.
You'd ideally get a lead and sub freely to keep that juice versus Iran.

Nothing will be easy but realistically getting through with 4 points, 1 win was probably always the goal here.
Far scarier if Wales had won 2-0 over Iran IMHO and then got to face an England assured of advancing in match 3.

Iran by losing a 4 goal diff versus England dug quite a hole. Wales giving up the 2nd very late also saw the GD drop to -2.
I suspect that 2nd spot comes via score differential.
But yes US must win at least 1 of the final 2 games to get there and not get blown out in the other.

If the US beats Iran they should be in with 4 points. Unless Wales beats England, right?

If the US ties Iran, that's when I think it becomes a mess.

I know this has been a crazy WC already. Argentina and Germany losing. Anything can happen.

The US impressed me in the first half. Beyond my expectations.

It may be my ignorant eye, but England didn't look any better.

A moral victory for the USA. But they still need to win.

Great draw for US. They were very much in it and could have gotten the win versus a really talented deep side.
But about how I'd have drawn it up. Go beat Iran and you advance.

This US team is young, wild and free.
McKinnie, Musah and Adams are so darn good.

Will Wales be down a player in their game against England because of their goalie's red card?

US speed and heart in midfield really bossed this game.
Great tactical set up as well.

Well done USA. Very energetic performance that stifled any creativity from England. England looked lethargic throughout. Under Southgate they seem reluctant to make changes until very late in the game. USA deserved to win and can be very pleased. Hope they have left enough in the tank for Iran

Yup, very evenly matched again. Well done to the US.

Now I go back to rooting for England, lol.
Hope Mount, Sterling and Gallagher have great remaining tourneys.

Was pretty easy to dislike them when Grealish came on. Not sure why I irrationally hate that dude beyond some good performances against Chelsea but perhaps its the hair.

OK guys, now that we've seen every team is anyone beating France? Personally I dont think so.

Side note - very disappointed in Brazil - used to like watching them back in the day but now not so much - they got talent but they play very individualistic ball.

I think England can, but, like the Dallas Cowboys funny enough, England needs to be more consistent.

That was a very good game by both teams. Both had their chances to score. Zimmerman scared me with his passing and Moore should never see the field again in this tourney. Now go beat Iran.
