I'll repeat the intro from previous weeks....
I did this the last few years.
It pretty much delivers the league MVP every year.

Don't get too worked up over this. Just data.

Combine and average the QBs' rank of the following two categories and tally.
  1. Differential: Total TDs (Passing/Rushing TDs ) - Total Turnovers ....This reduces bus-driving a little bit
  2. Standard NFL Passer Rating

This is where we stand after 14 weeks (13 games)

  1. Hurts (MVP candidate.....his plus 27 Differential is great)
  2. Mahomes (MVP candidate.)
  3. Tagovailoa (MVP candidate??)
  4. Burrow
  5. G Smith
  6. Garoppolo ( I may remove him in a week or two)
  7. Allen
  8. Goff (rising)
  9. Herbert
  10. Lawrence (rising up the charts...hopefully we bring him down to earth this week)
  11. Cousins (rising)
  12. Jackson
  13. Brady
  14. Rodgers
  15. Dalton
  16. Tannehill
  17. D Jones
  18. Carr
  19. Prescott
  20. Fields
  21. Mariotta
  22. Murray
  23. Brissett
  24. Heinike
  25. R Wilson
  26. Stafford
  27. M Jones
  28. Rush
  29. Mayfield
  30. Z Wilson
  31. Mills
  32. Ryan
  33. Pickett
Players not included due to not of enough games played:
Darnold, Purdy, White, K Allen, Huntley, Rypien, Trubisky, Watson, McCoy.
Appreciate this as always.
Thanks, and keep it up!

Philly is funny.
They mortgaged the team to get Wentz, then pick up an MVP QB with the 53rd pick.
We got Dak in the 4th.

Draft young running QBs and make the most of their legs during their rookie contracts.
Lather, rinse, and repeat.

Still 4 games to go, but if he finishes this low ( I honestly assume he will not) it would be the lowest a legit Cowboy starting QB (not backup due to injury) has finished since Quincy Carter in 2003.
:omg:

To be fair, he's only played 8 games. If you have a positive differential you should move up. Not sure about the passer rating though. Quantity doesn't necessarily help or hurt that.
He's 22nd in differential and 14th in passer rating. (19th in QBR if anyone follows that stat)
It's weird but of Prescott's last four full seasons (2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022) 2019 his head and shoulders above the rest.

2018...Receiving options not RBs...Cooper, Hurns, Gallup, Beasley, Jarwin...QBR = 55.2...Offense ranked #24 in DVOA (-6.3%) (22 - 8 td/int)

2019...Receiving options...Witten, Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, and Jarwin [2 - 1000+ yd receivers in Gallup and Cooper plus 828 yds from Cobb]...QBR = 71.9...Offense ranked #2 in DVOA (24.5%) (30 - 11 td/int)

2021...Receiving options...Gallup, Cooper, Lamb, Schultz, Wilson [Lamb - 1100 yds]....QBR = 54.6...Offense ranked #6 in DVOA (13.6%) (37 - 10 td/int)

2022...Receiving options...Gallup, Lamb, Schultz, Brown [Lamb - 1000+ yds projected]...QBR = 52.4...Offense ranked #15 in DVOA (4.2%) (14 - 9 td/int)

The 2019 offense paired with this year's defense would be Super Bowl bound. They would be leading total team DVOA by a whopping 10 percentage points.

As it stands...the current offense needs a lot more work as far as consistency is concerned. Prescott is now seven games post return but he's already matching a full season for INTs (average) and has half the number of touchdowns. Not all his fault but the fact remains that not all is well with the Cowboys offense.

So, Dak is 19th in the league behind stud QBs like Dalton, Tannehill, and the legendary Daniel Jones:lmao2:

Perfect definition of mediocre, and look at the teams he has played against. All under 500 I believe. oh yeah the Vikings. sorry.
And the Viking are severely overrated.

Seems about right. Dak has been average to above average this season. His differential is concerning. He needs to take care of the ball. That would help him get higher on the list. If Dak doesn't turn it over we can win with him. His TOs kill us. He doesn't have to be MVP, he just has to keep drives going. He does that and we'll be successful.
