IMO:
- When you factor in the turnovers on both sides of the ball last year and its impact, Dallas was a top 5 defense
- Dallas has the talent on paper to be the best defense in the league this year but have to prove it on the field before getting anointed. I do think this is possible.
- They would have to have multiple players step up significantly to be some generational Doomsday type defense. Mazi, Tank, Sam Williams, Overshown, etc. The issue isn't going to be the DB's. The front 6/7 has to control the line of scrimmage and make life hell for QB's. I doubt the team gets that far.

Less that 13 yards a game is indeed elite......we may struggle to achieve that I reckon!
Why go back and look at the top ten defenses of all time the bottom of that list like the bottom 5 held teams at/under 13 PPG. The top five they held teams under 12 PPG and I believe the number one defense of all time might be that 2000 Baltimore team 10.8 points per game.. So this is what I'm talking about people need to understand our defense is light years ahead of where it was with Nolan and marinelli but it has not arrived as an elite defense that's earned a name quite yet I watched last year they had a lot of soft spots and even in that 49er game as great as they play they missed plays those plays were not missed by some of the best defenses of all time you have to take advantage of every opportunity not just some of them,..

Until I actually see it play well into the season, everything is conjecture about this defense. They do look good on paper, as good as any other team.
