Looks like TE was not the other option at 26
Seems like they were debating between Mazi and an Olineman.
Did not say who
My guess was Avila or possibly Bergeron.

Yep….great piece. Thanks.

this now confirms two things……BPA is pretty much a myth most of the time.

FO definitely thought guard was a big weakness and looked to address it with the first pick and never got around to it.

McClay actually was claiming they had good OG depth. This was a BPA situation where "two cards were touching" and they went with the guy that was a bigger need. McClay also said that Mazi was higher than they've had a DT when on the clock. Supposedly according to the team he was #14.

nope……..it was their two biggest needs and they were taking one or the other. Bpa not a chance.

depth? Depth isn’t a starter.

No other way to interpret that.

cowboys put their board together based on scheme and need. So it’s already scewed away from traditional bpa.

NT is one of the key positions for Quinn's defense. Glad they took Mazi. Taking Mazi tells us so.
I've always been a big fan of taking interior olinemen. But I think we're looking for backups this year.
