Fans seem to forget Josh Ross and Matt Waletzko at OT. Appears team still hopes Ross can be a swing OT although IMO he looks more like a bust and to tall for OG. Waletzko had some good things and probably would have gone higher in the draft if not the shoulder problem. All reports on him is that surgery was very successful and he is now stronger and quicker. As to Ross, it is a make or break training camp for him. He was dominant in college and if he regains that form that is a huge plus and gives options on the line.
There were those "experts" during last year training camp that thought he had a chance to beat out Steele for RT. Could be interesting to see how they view him in training camp.
Another forgotten soul is Issac Alarcon who has been around now 4 years. He played OT and OG in camp and few months ago the "experts" believed that he could be the 2023 starting LG. At 6'7" and 320, seems to be a bit tall but maybe not. Seen comments and heard on some of the talking heads on radio that he is looking like a guy to watch in training camp. If so, nothing but good news for the OL.
Best case for the Boys, Waletzko is the player they thought and can start or be a swing OT, Alarcon is the dominant guy in training camp and wins the LG spot and becomes the hopefully long term solution at LG.
Be nice to see the starting OL be Smith, Alarcon, Biadasz, Martin, Steele with Tyron, Waletzko, Farniok (OG/OC), draft pick OG/OC.
