Will this year‘s o line be better than last year‘s o line? How long do you think it will take for them to gel?

Lots of moving parts at this point so it is hard to tell.
LT - hard to believe that Guyton will be as good as Tyron in his rookie season. Tyron did miss 5 games last year so Guyton may be better than the guy that filled in. - We take a step back initially
LG - Tyler Smith - a year older so he may be improved - another step forward
C - Biadasz was one of the weak links last year. However, Bebee is a rookie playing C for the first time- this could be a step back or a step forward. Long term I like Bebee
RG - Martin - Unless he gets injured I think we stay status quo here - We stand still
RT - Steele was hurt going into last year - hopefully that is why he struggled - If so, we take a step forward here - if not then get that kid Nathan Johnson ready for 2025

It's probably quite a mixed bag of results as far as the Oline goes. The thing that I love about this unit this year is the depth they've created. In reality though you truly only have one fully known commodity in Tyler Smith. We've seen two sides of Steele, Martin while I think you can count on him at least being an above average G I don't think you can just expect a plug and play all pro entering his age 34 season. From there you have two rookies who are likely to see some ups and downs as the season goes on.

If we do find out they hit on Beebe/Guyton though it's a great sign for the future. That would get you 3 young high end OL to build around for the next 5 years.

There is no question it will be better. The starting center will be better and that makes a big difference. The running game scheme will be better (last year was awful). They will work together in the mini camps and OTA's and training camp so I don't expect it will take long for them to gel. Hopefully by the time we get into the 3rd or 4th game we can see them working together as a solid group.

I say yes it's at least as good or it can be better they're gonna be a little growing pains from game to game but I don't think people realize just how off that line was last year's run and pass especially at center hell let's just leave the left tackle out of it because that's been a swinging door we need some consistency there but Tyler was very average as a center dude got pushed back too many times into the quarterback or into the running back into the backfield I mean he was pretty good in zone and moving and decent in the run game but overall that is not hard to replace that is why he's gone you did not pay for that type of production is just average to below average he never excelled at anything but him getting bullied up the middle I don't think this rookie is gonna have that problem he's got that lower center of gravity no neck he's played all three inner positions on the line so I think he knows how to leverage and get that anchor down he just needs a lot of snaps and working with all the quarterbacks you know with different under center snaps and shotgun.. Once he learns to snap the ball and then fire out or getting it set he won't have that problem Tyler was just never big enough and the especially the bottom of his frame.... So yeah there might be some growing pains that left tackle they may need to rotate in a doggo or others but I just don't see the big drop off we're used to not playing with tyron Smith so much he's out games he's out serious..

I mean I don't see how it could be worse it was solid when he was in there but we had to cover him up a lot because even though he played more last year than any other season he was not healthy on every snap in every series so he wasn't always great...

I think how the OL fares in 2024 will strictly be a wait-and-see proposition.

There are really too many variables involved to accurately predict that outcome.

No it will be alot worst. Alot.

It will also take more than a year to gel.

This year will be a wasted year. Thats because this FO has no clue on how to run a team.

I am more bullish about our Oline than our Dline, our DTs are meh,Dlaw is leaving after this season and Sam williams and Kneeland are a question mark

Probably not. We have two rookies on the OL, and more often then not rookies struggle on the OL. Add to that one of those is an LT. And that LT was a RT in college
I would argue OL is the easiest position to transition from college.

Better? One is replacing an All Pro and future HOF LT.. The other is replacing a pro bowl C. Will those two be part of a “better” OL than what we had in 2023? I don’t see that in 2024. Maybe down the road.

I like both Guyton and Beebe as draft picks. But just assuming they both are instant All Pros and instant upgrades is just a lack of objectivity.

I completely agree. I'm optimistic on these young guys, but best case scenario we are realistically looking at a neutral move to Guyton/Beebe from Smtih/Biadasz. I think fans are too quick to dismiss the talent that walked out the door this offseason, and too quick to label the rookies as upgrades.

There will be growing pains. The two most important positions on the O Line, LT and C, will be manned by rookies who didnt play those positions in college. I have never been a huge Solari fan. Having a mentor like Jason Peters to help Guyton couldnt hurt.

The Browns defensive line is going to give us the 411 on this in game one.

Expecting them to be competent in run blocking AND pass protection is a bridge too far......but if they can merely hold their own and win a good share of the battles it will be some evidence to consider.

With the same OL coach it's going to be a difficult season.
All rookies get their butts handed to them several times during a game.
I don't care how good they are there's a steep learning curve.
If you start 2 rooks you better have a mobile QB, and a quick running attack.

Never know with rookies but I'm optimistic we might better as a group. I think Martin will play better than he did last year and Steele better play better than he did last year. I think Beebe will be better than Biadasz by year end just from a pure power perspective, but I'll assume a push on this one. I think Tyler may keep improving. LT to me is the big question. I don't see us being even close to as good as last year even though I think the rookie could eventually be a player. LT needing help could really impact the OL as a whole and bring the group down

Same coaching staff with less experienced personnel. I do see “how it could be worse”.

No I think you can think about putting Guyton over there, what about that?

Totally agree with the Browns comment!!! Wish our guy on defense #11 would have the kind of impact they're going to have
