Preseason is officially over. First games tonight. Rockets @ Thunder, possible West Conf Finals preview. Warriors @ Lakers, for the ratings.

Spurs finished their preseason undefeated, and it made me wonder. Preseason is preseason in all pro sports, but it does seem to matter more in the NBA, than say, the NFL where the results are probably useless. I asked ChatGPT to research the last 20 NBA Preseasons and look for undefeated teams. I wanted to know how many made the Playoffs. The results I got back were 7 teams went undefeated in Preseason, and all but 6 went to the Playoffs. The one exclusion was 2019-20 Pelicans.

So hoping that the preseason wasn't just a fluke, and ready for a dominant season from my Spurs! So much talent on that team now. What a great build, albeit we got lucky again with the #1 overall big man.

I hope the Mavs can tread water with Kyrie out. That team can be dangerous when healthy. Still wish we had Luka but oh well, have to move on. I hope Cooper Flagg lives up to the hype. Seen this story so often across all sports, draft flops.

I stopped watching the NBA about eight years or so ago. The Rockets are/was my team but got tired of watching ball-hog Harden throwing up 50 shots a game. I knew they were never going to get far in the playoffs relying on him. I just kinda lost overall interest in the game. I am going to give it another shot this season and see how it goes. It was almost a nice win tonight but some white guy named Sheppard did his best to give it away :muttley:

I've never understood the fascination with Reed Sheppard. I saw in the GM polls before season began, someone still voted him for best coming out performance. They're going to miss the veteran presence of Van Fleet running the offense. His leadership along with Kawhi's clutch play got that trophy for Toronto. He's not the same now, but still a lot more consistent than Sheppard.

Dallas vs San Antonio tonight! Excited about the game. Mavs will be deadly if they can stay healthy. If Irving can get back to 100%, and AD avoids the usual monthly injury. I think Cooper Flagg will be great. He's still 18 years old. This isn't like Christian Laetner who played a full 4 years in college. Dude is going to get better. I would have had an aneurysm if Spurs won that draft pick too. And it's really what they needed too. I was hoping they would win the Kevin Durant sweepstakes. They have a jam now with Harper, Fox, Castle and Vassell.

got to feel sorry for Luka,he will never win the title at LA.

I get the feeling he's going to end up like Harden, Westbrook and some of those guys putting up spectacular numbers but never getting anywhere in Tourney. LA though surprises sometimes with the players they pull in through the decades. Nice to be the King.

I'm a Spurs fan also. Expecting a huge 3rd year leap for Wemby, he spent the offseaon with monks, Hakeem Olujawon, Kevin Garnett etc he is gonna be a much more complete player this year and will be firmly in MVP talks imo. De'Aaron Fox is going to show why he was an All-NBA 3rd team guard, and i like the offseaon additions of the bigs Kornet and Olynyk. I fully expect to reach 50 wins and make the playoffs

Vassell is going to end up traded, I dont see him being a part of our final version of Spurs. Also Castle plays the 2 so no real log jam there. Just Fox and Harper which you need 2 good PGs anyway. Great issue to have. Fox will probably be traded in a couple years

Going to be an interesting year for Boston minus Tatum. I think they will be around a 6th seed. Im looking forward to see development from some of the young players. Especially Hugo Gonzalez who looked great in SL and PS.

What they can get for Simons is going to he the big question for this season. I expect they move him at the dead line if not before

I think the big question with Fox and Harper is how they fit together. If Harper looks strong this year, they should consider moving Fox. They should still be able to get good value for him

I want them to play 2 full season together with eachother. Let harper pickup every good habit he can from Fox with his knowledge and by that point Fox will have shown for 2 years that he is beasting next to Wemby so that should maximize what we can get for him on the trade market. Also keeps us protecting from injury having 2 good PGs. then in harpers 3rd year he can be ready to takeover fulltime PG and we flip Fox for a great package

Where do you see the Spurs going this year playoff seed wise?

I'm wondering why such a late start time for a game with two central time teams???

Yeah, me too. I was surprised. Good game though. Everyone is a little rusty, opening night stuff. Cooper Flagg finally finding his mojo in the 3rd. Wemby flat out dominated first half. And Cassell continued where he left off as ROY as the wingman. Going to be a fun season to watch.

Unfair that they are hyping this Wemby vs. Flagg. First off, Wemby is one of those generational big man picks. I know they want the ratings, but would be more fair as Flagg vs. Harper. Those two were the #1 and #2 consensus picks for many months.

Dallas needs a healthy Irving back asap! I agree with Sir Charles that they are getting too cute having Cooper Flagg run the point, just let D'Angelo Russell fill in until Irving is back. But seeing as the Head Coach is Jason Kidd, guess you have to trust his judgment on the point.
