2025 additions whether trades or FAs

I did not include draft picks this year. I went with the FAs and Trades as that is normally where the Cowboys have basically said Meh the last few years.

K. Elam - Traded player. Started off ok, pretty quickly turned to suckage status.

J. Sanborn - FA Very underwhelming player on an injury riddled LB roster and now injured himself. Only reason signed was because he worked on prior team of current DC.

K. Murray - Traded player. I think the want to is there but that Can do is no longer there. Still getting playing time due to injuries.

J.Milton - Traded player. Has all the physical tools you would want. Just too inconsistent and not ready for prime time. Yet another backup QB in dallas that people think are better than the starter but they know he is not.

D. Fowler Jr - FA. Looks lost many times, other times makes some plays. Not the same player he was for Washington but they knew it was an outlier as they let him go.

Soloman Thomas - FA. Injured now. Although he did not put up the stats. He was IMO on of the better rotational players on an early season depleted D Line.

J. Houston - FA....might be on of the best bang for the buck defensive FAs. Not a Pro Bowler by any means but a nice rotational guy

K. Clark Traded - Good Player for us. Not the pro bowler he was but he has helped and should be even better with another player of Q's ability working with him.

Q. Williams - Traded Best traded defensive player for us by far and he is only one game in. He is a game changer that makes people around him better. He is that DT the Cowboys has needed for years. He is that War Daddy. Could be a pro bowler.

G.Pickens - Traded. Best traded player on offense. He still has some maturity issues with the silly taunting type stuff. But make no mistake. He is a game changer. Currently 2nd in yards in the NFL and is tied with a few others for 3rd in TDs. Should be a pro bowler.

J. WIlliams - One of the best FA signings for performance and price.
5th in the nfl in rushing yards and 4th in rushing TDs. Frankly would be even better if they did not get too pass happy at times.

There are some others that I did not add to the list. I think these were main ones IMO so did not bother with some of the other ones. If you wish to add the good or bad others, please feel free to do so.

So, although there are enough normally cheap FAs that have not really panned out per usual. J. Williams was a home run and we hit big on a couple of traded players that in the past we would have never bothered trading for. So mixed bag but those three make up for most of the others IMO.

Impact Additions:
- Q Williams.
- Logan Wilson
- George Pickens
- Jevonte Williams
- Kenny Clark
- 1st Rd. Pick 2026 GB

Impact by Subtraction:
- Micah Parsons
- 1st Rd Pick in 2027 GB
- 2nd Rd Pick in 2026
- 3rd Rd Pick in 2026

Good stuff.

K Murray, BTW, completely lacks instincts. Has all the physical tools, but simply cannot react quickly enough for the NFL game. He's been this way from the start, bad signing.

Clowney

our preseason movements were truly irritable bowel ones
with the exception of Pickens

I would sum it up as:

-Our dumpster diving signings pretty much ended up being what we expected. Javonte was a great find. Solomon Thomas has been good. The rest are writeoffs.

-Kenny Clark is about what we expected, a vet who's pretty much over the hill. He's an average starter at this point or somewhere below it.

-Pickens was an absolute home run. The only Cowboys WR seasons this century that compare are probably TO 2007, Dez Bryant 2014, and CeeDee Lamb 2023. He is literally giving us a once-a-decade type season.

-Big Q has only started one game at DT for Dallas, and it was the single best Cowboys DT game in 20 years. The only ones that would even compare is some of the David Irving lights-on moments. Q literally just showed up off the plane and gave us generational DT play. Just an unbelievable talent who played an unbelievable game, and let's see what he can do against Philly.

So two grand slams - one we kind of bargained for, and one where we got way more than that, and a lot of the normal Jerry misses on bottom feeders.

I like this "signing elite talent" thing. Let's do it more often.
