2025 Salary cap projection given to teams

Good Lord, they aren't extending him. What they are doing is already written in his contract. They have no problem.
Say what??????? If they mess with his contract, it's either going to result in an extension or DEAD MONEY a year or two after he's gone.

They are flipping the switch and creating cap space.

Trading cap space now for DEAD MONEY later????? That's not a good way to run an organization. Personally, I'm against anything now that is going to hurt the Cowboys later because this means Prescott has to up his game and we all know that's not going to happen. JJ needs to sit tight, wait another year then find a way to dump the bum.

Yeah this is the tricky part of 'flipping the switch' at this point. Part of me would love to see it as it would actually give me some hope for 2025, but is the window really open right now? One of your best defenders is going to miss possible all of 2025. Your QB is coming back from a significant lower body injury and you have no idea how he will be physically for 2025. You also have new coordinators on both sides of the football. It might be the ideal year to eat some of these cap hits, give yourself some flexibility for 2026 and really focus on trying to make a run then.

I know this roster isnt total garbage for 2025, they have some really good pieces, but it feels like we need a lot to go right just to get back to hanging around the rim and flirting with the post season again.

Personally, I believe doing nothing could get this organization a really high pick in the 2026 draft. I don't want to barely get into the playoffs and get beat in a first rd playoff game. I believe if the Cowboys play their cards right there could be a Manning in their future. There are too many holes to plug in this sinking tub, let the new coaching staff get their feet wet in 2025, then hit it hard in 2026. This season could pay high dividends for seasons to come..............

Yeah but that’s not really cash poor though. If you need money you can get it. Jerry like most rich man are constantly making money off their cash. So I can’t really buy the excuse Jerry doesn’t have it to spend. How he handles his money should be no different than how anyone else rich does.
To get it they sell investments. He’s done 200 mil in last 2 years. That’s a lot of cash for even a billionares since rich people have their money invested. In Jerry’s case a lot is invested in gas leases. Easy to sell but he wouldn’t want to sell
