2025 Salary Cap space and dead money for all 32 teams

I agree. But the Cowboy's problem is (among many) is they won't admit when a draft pick is a mistake. I think Jerry thinks it diminishes his "status " as a "football guy" to say "Oops. We missed on that one".
I agree

They are. With all the young players they have on rookie deals I guess they are like they will worry about it later and win now. The same approach I would take honestly.
They just won a damn Super Bowl........who cares. Only a select few teams have grounds to stand on ( Chiefs, Raven and Bills ). All others need to sit in a corner and pay attention to how the Eagles are getting it done IMO.

If you draft well and develop players who eventually will command bigger contracts or leave as FAs, as frustrating as that might be, that's a good problem to have. That Sweat and Williams are probably going to leave in free agency after developing into solid players is part of the price you pay for success. Eventually the Eagles will have to figure something out for Jalen Carter for sure, and their two rookie CBs who played lights out.

I'd love one that showed void year money spent as well. The Eagles have a ridiculous amount of money there. Thats how they are able to navigate the cap as well as they have.
It’s smart… It allows you to pull back from the future, even more than signing bonus does… In turn this allows you to really maximize a window… Then when the window closes, you have to maximize the pain… But the net is a more polarized set of results… leading to deep playoff runs.

I agree. You have to have the gumption to rebuild. Our FO can't stomach the idea of swinging and missing. They are cowards. They've continually demonstrated sustained mediocrity pushes sales. As long as the revenue is coming in they won't take the risk.

I hope I'm wrong, and acknowledge since signing Schottenheimer They've been operating somewhat out of character. It remains to be seen if they are actually aggressive though.

In my opinion, these are the windows to actually compete, knowing in 4 years you have to make tough choices. But tread-milling like Jerry has done gets you no further, IMO.
For us, that window was: 2022, 2023 (and could of been 2024, if Jerry took a polarized view after the GB game)...... that window, IMO, is not 2024. Too many indeterminates: Injuries, development of recent draft picks and Dak all combine to indicate 2025 shouldnt be a spending spree, 2025 should be (predominantly) .....especially as we've got a new coaching team.

I’m worried Guyton is a bust. Someone tell me I don’t need to worry.

Yea, but the NFL is fluid when it comes to cutting or trading players and freeing up cap. The Saints for years have turned -50mil to +, and have even been able to sign dumb deals like Carr's deal with the mess they've made since the Drew Brees era.

I don't think anyone wants Dallas to spend all 54 mil on long term 5 year mega deals that also are ballooned.

2026 they'll restructure Dak again. If CDL is still elite, he'll be restructured.
Supposedly the team isn't happy with Diggs, they can cut him to free up 12mil. Steele can be cut for 9mil.
2025 they were -2mil before the restructuring.

Years 1-3 of an extension in reality are very cheap when talking about cap, as long as the player is still playing well, the team will restructure and 2-3 years of the cap hit aare way under the AAV. So what do you really want? If you think we're in a window to compete, them we SHOULD be making those MEGA DEALS. Spending on improving the roster by 2nd Tier FA's, just gets you to the 2023 level (Cooks, Gilmore, Hankins) will only get you so far (play-off relevancy) when what was needed was Henry at the trade deadline.....it would of hurt 2024 as it would of probably cost us a 1st (= 2/5ths of our present O=Line).

Well I consider the mega deals like Parsons, CDL, and the future Smith deal. There's no FA like that. Nor would I want the team to add more top 3 deals at respective positions.

I didn't mind the Cooks or Gilmore acquisitions. Cooks just didn't click here but he was a #2 WR.
Gilmore provided great depth/#2 corner for good value.

If Schott/Adams want a vet at guard, all for a Hernandez signing.

At linebacker I would like to see another solid to good LB vet signed.
If they want to stop the run, be in the legit running for a guy like Robert Spillane and not some value LB.

I do agree with the principal of your core should be drafted talent, and FA shouldn't be the top 5-10 guys cause they get bidding wars and the value may not be there even day 1.

With Osa signed, it'll be nice to see some decent DT signed like BJ Hill who does excel in an one gap scheme. Let's not just rely on Mazi getting it together and a rook along Osa.
