Honestly I wouldn't be opposed to trading our 1st away. Nobody we draft is going to make that much of a difference. We'll need 2 firsts the following year to get a franchise QB. I don't like this year's QBs in the draft. Yeah all you Dirk glazers can go away. Dirk aint it, and this team needs new spark.
I would absolutely do whatever is necessary to acquire more picks if they are going to continue to avoid free agency.

You can’t draft enough good players fast enough, but I’m sure Jerry thinks he is one player away, and they treat their first rounder as if it’s a major FA acquisition.

They aren’t good at this and I don’t expect that they suddenly will be.

I enjoy each season as they unfold. I do not get caught up in the past to rule my everyday life.
Of course I want them to win a SB. But drafting a player at 8, or at 14, is not making that difference in a year.
And if they lose and get a better draft pick, at this point, I will not complain.

Tanking is a fan thing. That is what I am pointing out. It is not a TEAM thing. Fans that whine and complain that the team is stupid for not tanking is just stupid.
A team wil not lose on purpose, not the players. Yes maybe play younger players to see what hey can do.
but aren't Dallas already doing that. They set that time since the GB loss. No FA's signed but a few stop gap type players.

They are doing that now by playing players on the roster for the many that are not injured. Other than putting in Lance.

If Dallas had a top 5 pick, do you really, truly, believe they would take a QB? I doubt it.
Then fans will argue, take a QB or trade down for more picks. Guess what, if they really want that QB, they would find a way to trade. Then fans will argue about that.

I am let the season play out person, not into this loser tank on purpose TEAM stuff. If they lose, ok, better draft pick. If they win and are middle of the pack, so be it.
Nothing Cowboys related has anything to do with real life. All pro athletes are a bunch of overpaid grown men playing a boys game. The only thing nfl related I’ve watched the last 10 years is the Cowboys and I’ve only watched 3-4 games this year.

Drafting 8 over 14 DOES make a difference throughout the entire draft if the scouting dept. has done their job.

Drafting a QB depends on which QB they draft. This organization has overlooked the most important position on the field since Aikman. A franchise QB is the only thing that can help overcome the insanity which is Jerry’s World.

Knowledgeable fans know what the season brings before it’s played out. The chances of winning the lottery is higher than the Boys winning a SB since Jimmy’s guys left the organization. The proof’s in the pudding.

1. Raiders (2-11)

2. Giants (2-11)

3. Patriots (3-10)

Tonight and Carolina will determine where we will be picking. We could probably land #10, but more likely in the 12-15 range.

We could very well lose both .........the Panthers are certainly playing better.

Only watched 3 or 4 games. wow. I watched them all. That does not make me any more knowledgeable than any other fan. But I feel it gives me a bit more where many of the players may stand as to their play. Actually watching games instead of just reading on here and go with the flow.

Of course. But in the grand scheme of things, t really does not make that huge of a difference. As a team still needs to hit on players. The problem here is they draft usually well, but the lack of FA is a big issue along with that.

I agree, they have been very lax in addressing the QB situation. They should have done it as soon as Aikman retrieved if not a bit before. Jerry thought he did with 2nd round pick Carter. Parcels should have as well. But he thought his has been QB's were the answer. that was not on Jerry. The one time he did listen to his HC.

I am knowledgeable, are you saying I am not. I could say the same about you. After all, you only watched 3 or 4 games this season. Is it 3 or is it 4?
And no one knows how the season will play out before it starts. That is just fans always being negative. Injuroies happen, as we seen. Not just with Dallas, but look at SF as well. Detroit more injured than both teams, look at them.

Oh, Jimmy left. wow, another copout. Does any fan really believe after the team aged and players left visa FA, as the triplets were gone. This team was not going to go through some lean years? I mean, knowledgeable fans should know that, right?

We got Micah and Lamb in this area of the draft
You forgot we used that Top 10 original pick to trade down 2 spots to #12 and still get Micah while getting an extra pick for trading down? That's what getting a Top 10 original pick can do for your team. Much better than drafting later in the 1st round.

I'm a stupid dummy then...if you want to lose at ANYTHING, it's easy to spot a loser. Like a draft pick, a few places higher will grantee a damn thing...talk about irrelevancy.....
Then you would likely lose at poker, Coach.

I’ll close with this….those that didn’t know exactly how this season and many others over the last 28 years was going to turn out before it started are not knowledgeable football fans. Watching the games means nothing if you don’t know what you are watching. Exactly how many games have you played, coached or scouted at any level in your lifetime? Some have the ability to evaluate talent…some don’t. Some have the ability to evaluate a situation and tell you the likely outcome. It’s clear, you can do neither. I’ve read a lot of your replies over the years and tried to put you on ignore but couldn’t because of the “staff member” status. A wise man once told me…if you could buy someone for what they know and sell them for what they think they know, you’d be a rich man.

It can go anywhere in this modern NFL, but we probably will need a new qb that can run. However, anything can happen with the addition of a star playmaker like Ashton Jeanty.
What if RB Jeanty gets picked in between picks #9 - #11, but the Cowboys ended up with #12 because they tried to win a game or two in late November - December just to save face and egos? Where were saving face and egos earlier in the season when the Cowboys were 3 - 2 but lost 5 in a row, pretty much guaranteeing not able to reach the playoffs this year before Thanksgiving came around?

These Cowboys made their bed a long time ago this season. Time to lose out and secure a high enough draft pick to better secure drafting RB Jeanty. If folks can't understand that, they are simply too stubborn and ignorant to want to do so.

What if they lose out on Jeanty and end up with Graham or McMillan or Burden and they go on to have a Hall of Fame career?

As I read enough of yours to know what you are as well. I watch the games as you said you do not. But yet you offer evaluations of players you never watch, or rarely watch.

You know nothing about me as to what I played or coached. I am not here to brag or not brag about about that. Because it doesn’t matter to me, nor many. Apparently it does to you. I could make the same *** of you, which I do not.

You are wrong, and I will leave it at that.

I watch all the games and all the plays. You do not. I think tha give me more knowledge at this point.

You brought up Jeanty. Now you are switching players because my sound logic destroys your idea of trying to win games in a losing season which would only hurt your draft picking ability to draft RB Jeanty?

Nice try, but EPIC FAIL.

I don't give a crap about poker...I'm talking football..would you lose at poker, on purpose?
I have lost a few times on purpose to make my opponents believe they are smarter than me, only to raise the ante and win big in the long run.

Well, if it works for you....not Me! especially not a team sport where players and coaches, futures and livelihoods depend on it.

Yes, I have knowledge, others that do not watch the games as one omitted to it, only have judgement.
You can have knowledge and no judgement or commons sense; but no one can have judgement without those as well

Lots of really bad teams this year. There are currently 8 teams 3-10 or worse. Last year, teams selecting 6th and 7th were 6-11. You'd have to have 3 of the 3-10 teams win 3 of their last 4 for a 6-11 team to draft 6th this year.
