2026 FIFA World Cup Thread

That was a great game between two realy good teams and both fans were really into the game. I don’t think either of the team supporters stopped singing or chanting. It was loud on TV so I could just imagine what it was like in the stadium. Imagine what the Cowboys fans could do in that stadium with that passion

Well, and that's partly why I'm suggesting that maybe a Cowboys fan can find a way to buy a double Decker bus too, and then fans can march to the stadium from Six Flags. Imagine the excitement that could produce, and especially when the Cowboys are on the road. We could learn from both the Netherlands and Japan.

Spain with an embarrassing game today
They very likely get 7 points and win their group regardless. Probably still get to the semi finals or further. Cape Verde still probably finish bottom of the group with 1 point and go home. The format of the tournament allows for errors like never before.

The fact that there were 16 ties out of 24 games is just really silly - No other self respecting sport would allow that. I like soccer to a degree but the best team should win most of the time - not have a draw!!

Tbh though, sometimes it's impressive. For example, the Japan Netherlands game was fantastic. So was Cape Verde with their impressive draw against Spain. There are times where those sorts of results are massive for a country. Once we get into the knockout stages, it will go to extra time and (if necessary) penalties. But for now, there are times where it's impressive.

In soccer, just because a team wins, that doesn't mean they were the better team. The Spain - Cape Verde match was the perfect example. Spain dominated that match from beginning to end, yet Cape Verde almost won with a header in extra time at the end. So draws don't bother me too much in soccer. Besides, how long do you want these guys to run around out there? They can't be out there forever, especially in a game that's not an elimination match.

In some cases but 16 ties is too many. The Cape Verde goalie pitched a no hitter - that was impressive, but Spain has got to win that game - they dominated it!

It's one of the reasons some games are so hard to watch. All a mediocre side has to do is to deploy 10 guys on defense and even the most talented, creative teams struggle. We see it more at the WC than in CL bc of the vast disparities in talent. Hopefully, once we get past round 1, we will see it less.

We've seen that in the knockout rounds too. Teams would put every man protecting the box, and just counter all game. Just look to the final match between Argentina and West Germany in 1990. Germany looked like they were on a 5 to 3 power play all game. And they barely won.

But that happens sometimes. It's not easy to score. For some of these teams, a tie is a win for them.

Spain almost lost. It was around the 91st minute where if that header in front of the goal doesn't go straight to the goalie, Cape Verde is going to win despite getting their butts kicked all game. I find it very interesting.

Same here

Have you all heard the news about unsold tickets and empty seats . FIFA overpricing its product in America . You can only get a certain amount of people traveling to America as tourists buying tickets , you still need Americans as well filling seats to Japan Netherlands etc ….it’s pure greed you have to know price point .

Paraguay now Australia . The powers that be softening the bracket for an American advance .
