This mock draft features no trades. In the event we do no trades, this is how I could see the draft going

If he's there at 12, we should take him. He would be the best safety we've had in a long time. Parker would do wonders with him.

I know he's listed as a DR. However, he's a player who I think could actually be a decent edge rusher in our 3-4 scheme. He's the type of player who, in a 3-4, would give our linebackers a lot of room to operate. He would be going up against tackles and would be able to get past them easily with his size and quickness. He'd also free up Eze and another player later to be able to get after the QB and stop the run. Speaking of stopping the run, he, Quinnen Williams/Clark, and Justin Houston would provide enough beef to clog up the middle, and allow the linebackers easier access to the RBs. He'd rotate well with Overshown.

We need help at CB, and I think he would prove to be a good CB opposite Revel/Bland.

With the move I made earlier for Woods, Orr becomes a good pick because his profile shows that he's good in blitz situations, as well as being very quick. I think our DTs would allow him to flourish on the outside as he would likely be one on one vs tight ends or a RB. I think Parker could get him to focus on the RB or the QB.

Potential Mike linebacker prospect along side Overshown and James.

Yes, I'm aware he's from Michigan. However, this is the 5th round and not the first round. In all seriousness, I think he'd be nice pass rush depth for us.

Can't hurt to have some CB depth here.

Went offense here. We could certainly use some oline depth, and Pounds would be quality depth at tackle, even for a 7th round pick.
So, in conclusion, yes, this was almost an exclusively defending draft, except for the last pick. I'd have liked to have gotten a linebacker earlier. However, I think the players I selected would give us a much better defence. Not only that, but we'd have better linebacker depth from the picks I did make at that position. Plus, my picks help protect the linebackers because our dline and secondary would be drastically improved. As a result, the linebackers jobs would be much easier.
