It's a good thing we won the game or Garrett would have been crucified for taking a knee with 21-29 sec left in the game and 2 or 3 time outs left.

Why did he do it? You try not to go in to OT and give Peyton any additional chances if possible. Luckily D stepped up.

That was a puzzling decision to me:confused:

Yep that was shocking to me. Even if you're playing to win the coin toss in OT, you're most likely going to get the ball around the same field position if you receive the ball first.

And then something like T Choice in the Skins game happens and you are the first one to say that it was a bad decsion...correct?

Nope. I wouldn't question his decision to play those 23 sec because it's a tie game and you are going for the win. You try not to give Manning any additional opportunities. Also you are letting faith deciding on a coin toss.

Personally I thought it was a poor decision by Garrett.

You can run a safe play. If it doesn't work then play for OT, but not even try gets an F grade from me.

Same here.. for as smart as he seems to be, he sure does make some questionable decisions sometimes. Im not sure if he's still adjusting to the head coaching position or what, but that was very odd.

Just glad it worked out this time.

usually for us, when times goes down...we tend to turnover the ball more often. so maybe it is a good choice for us to just go in for OT.

Okay, so you want to drop back and pass with less than 30 seconds left, knowing that Dwight Freeney knows that you're going to pass?

Seriously?

You sure you don't want to rethink this?

If we run a draw and it goes for 60 yards and we can kick the game winner then sure you look like a genius. However, if Felix fumbles the ball then you lose the game. And like I said before, dropping back to pass is not a viable option right there. Most coaches would choose OT there.

While I have some problems with this coaching staff, this isn't one of them. The odds of something happening that puts the Colts in FG range are better than something positive happening for Dallas. It was the right call.

your comparing a screen with only a few seconds left heading into the half with a chance to win the game along with 3 time outs and 23 secs left??

far from the same scenario whether you agree or not

that was the only real questionable decision he made to me. i didnt really have a problem with anything else. but with that much time left and all our time outs it wouldnt have hurt to try for a few completions especially after we all saw peyton was beginning to get hot and pick apart our d

luckily a easy drop from wayne and another timely turnover gave us another crack at winning the gm.

Couch is getting full and popcorn is low!:laugh2:

I wondered the same thing, you have a 3-8 team with nothing to lose, you have a defense that let the Colts march down the field with ease the last time they had the ball, I would rather see the Cowboys offense with 23 seconds left to win the game instead of our defense in OT. But, we won so who cares at this point.

One last chance?
:laugh2:

Why not? You can run a two man route, max protect. If you have nothing, take a seat and let the clock run out. If you get a blown coverage then you pick up yardage and call time out.

Anyone remember the Giants game with Bill Parcells as a coach and Q Carter as our QB, we picked up 30 yards with less than 17 sec left in the game and kicked a FG to win?!

This is the same scenario. You try to win the game in regulation on the road. Home team gets an edge as the game goes on.

It's important because Garrett maybe the NEXT HEADCOACH. He needs to make GOOD decisions. Not always the safe decisions.

Considering that we had just fumbled the KO, I really thought it was the right decision.

I would LOVE to hear Garrett's explanation.

It was the SAFE decision but it actually make me wonder if he is right for HEAD Coach position.

I was cursing at that, then cursing some more when Indy won the coin toss.
Lucky for him they held on and won.

Why?

We're deep in Indy's territory?

We're playing in Indy?

We just gave the Colts the momentum?

The rush was getting to Kitna?

Why just dodged a bullet by recovering a fumble on a kickoff?

Why risk turning the ball back over to the Colts?

Sorry, guys. It was NOT a questionable call. It doesn't even rank among the most questionable calls.

Even if we had lost in OT, it would have been the right call.
